Not until the cost of maintenance on my 17 outweighs keeping it. By that time the 4th Gen might be out. My kids will be gone by then, so I might downsize to a compact pickup. So many factors that the new 3rd Gen might never even be an option at the time I’m looking to move on.

The 22 seats look comfy. Hopefully they will fit my 2020 if so

The crawl control of the new pro looks interesting. Never seen it in action other than videos of tacos and 4R having it. Could be a cool little feature for the tundra.

Ill be keeping the one that I have with the V8. Have no need for all of that electronic crap that is on the 22, they can keep it.

Not even the electronics. It looks like an F150 and a Ridgeline merged.

Might wanna save your comments on the turd gen for the turd gen section. It was mentioned they dont want them in 2.5.

    And yeah its disappointing.

2022 Tundra - stronger tailgate (I load ATV's and have to nurse my tailgate with plywood to prevent deformation), Much better camera system, Engine Torque at very low rpms (perfect), 13" display, coil spring rear suspension, greater payload, transmission cooler. Too many reasons to not upgrade. The key will be initial reliability and price, if problems persist then I keep the dinosaur, if price is $10K more than I paid I keep dinosaur if not I buy new in heartbeat and sale the 2021.

Oh how a new gen can stir up a forum. I’m sure the gen3 will grow on some once they start to mod them with bumpers and wheels and all.

The body style and the lines and the lack of a V8 option are the very few things that I can’t see past.

I think people that use their trucks to tow and haul will go to the new truck as it has much better capacity. If someone uses their truck like a car then whatever one looks better.

New V6 has 480ft-lb torque at 2400rpm vs 400ft-lbs at 3600rpm. no comparison the new engine is superior to existing. Oh and no more fan roar on start-up with electric fans.

The new Tundra has grown on me since I’ve seen the SR5 pics. Drivetrain should be awesome. That said I love my 2021 and won’t be upgrading for at least a decade.

Nothing here for me that is an upgrade anyway?
We simply do not know yet about the engine/drivetrain performance at all aside from some claims.
Without knowing pricing.mileage or configurations really how could I even know what I am missing?

I need a long bed and just a basic truck with as little fluffy crap as possible but a larger fuel tank certainly only seems like a fair minimum too.
I dont know that any human has even seen a DC anywhere just yet?
I truly am not interested in the electronic stuff and I dont really want to have a twin turbo whirring its tiny guts out all the time either.

And the truck is just butt ugly to me so far especially from the front.

I've had my 2020 for 9mo and still have it on the same radio station, unless the wife is involved with her wifi. No way I'm ready to trust a new design turbo motor. We need you converts to let us know how that works out.

I agree let others test it out. Then when something goes wrong or don’t work like it should there will be another thread started for the complainers. When you jump into a new design you need to tell yourself things can go wrong. And deal with it. Lol.

This next year, we will see people (suckers) pay insane, over-MSRP-prices for the new gen Tundra. I will not be one of them. I remember when the 5th gen 4Runners came out, and I was still driving my 4th gen. At first, I was enamored with the new gen, but then I got in one and drove it. The interior felt cheaper (thinner plastic, ugly angles) and the engine transmission was NOT an improvement over the 4th. And yet, people were paying north of $40K for it. Instead, I lifted my 4th gen, put on armor, upgraded the audio and added a cat-back. I was so much happier.

That being said, there are things on the new gen that I like (new suspension; 14" screen), and things that I do not (Platinum grill; reduced headroom, ugly a/c vents). If they (Toyota) had opted to offer an improved (more efficient) V8 for said new gen, I would take a very hard look at purchasing one..... in a couple of years. But, as it stands, my 2018 Platinum will be in my driveway for at least a decade. It is still the apple of my eye and pretty soon, it will have a supercharger which will crush the TTV6 hybrid in raw power. Even now, I still get warm and fuzzy, when I climb in and fire it up!
