Agreed! I see the SR5 TRD Off Road has chrome around the grill....I'm assuming the rear bumper will be chrome as well!!! :annoyed::crazy:

Yea, the color matching all around does wonders. Front bumper, door handles, fender trim....

One of the better looking ones I have seen. The 1794 that was highlighted in smoked mesquite had like a lighter gray accent for the fender flares and grille.. Who comes up with that and thinks it looks good. Color match it and looks 100x better.

Overall really like the 22. Chrome still looks odd though.
Truck is caught up with a lot of modern features, in some aspects it's an upgrade but on others feels more of a side grade.
No plans buy one but if the dealership near me gets some, definitely gonna check them out since I want to see it in person and maybe give it a test drive.

You mean you like the looks of the the SR5 TRD Sport. I do as well no chrome!!

I like the look of the SR5 TRD Sport, however one journalist stated it sits lower (less ground clearance). The current TRD Sports (Tundra and Tacoma) come with street tires and I'm assuming no locking rear diff as well. No thank you.

I really like the full digital dash in the higher trims. Looks awesome! Also digging the steering wheel. I'll probably get one in the future, several years from now, and keep my '14.

The Lunar Rock TRD Pro looks good. I think LR and black trim pieces goes well.

I saw that, I realized TRD Sport is street tuned.
I saw the Truck King video with the SR5 TRD 4x4 and it was chromed out.

So, if I get stuck wanting a trim with the ugly chrome/satin silver fu manchu grille, maybe just get one in a color shared with the SR5 TRD Sport and buy the color matched grille from Toyota?

I've said it before, but I can't get over that ugly side profile. The elongated front-end ruined the look of the current Titan, and this new Tundra looks the same. It might look OK with the right lift, but at least the current gen Tundra still looks good stock.

Anyone know if there is a specific reason the don't put the roll down window in the double cab? Is there some kind of limitation with the cab that it can't be done? With how much everyone likes that feature I really thought they would make in available for both cabs....

I think people were really hoping for close to 2k payload in a well equipped Crewmax, looks like it will be under 1,500. I don’t think a real 2k was too much to ask for, I have over 3,500 in my 3/4 ton.

If it hasn't been mentioned yet, go to you tube and check out "Raiti's Rides" he's got 2 videos up completely going over in person a 22' 1794 and TRD Pro while the trucks are at a Tundra reveal show in Texas. Really gives an inside look at everything.

I'll be sniffing around a 1794 myself. I like the King Ranch/Longhorn western styling anyway and the Platinum grill design isn't the best. I might have been interested in the TRD PRO but between not being able to get the 6.5 bed CM and the "cool for a little while" but then "wtf was I thinking" red seats, that decision is pre-made by Toyota for me.

I’ve been waiting to cancel my F150 lightening and Rivian for this truck. This is exactly the truck I wanted in 2016. I probably would have bought it even last year. But it’s too little, too late. The compromises don’t offer anything over and above the existing model except for mileage, which will still trail the competition. The hybrid may be more reliable than IC alone, but not more reliable than electric. The primary benefit of a hybrid- on-board power generation- isn’t offered. Turbo v6s don’t tow as well as a V8, and when they do their mileage isn’t better- so where’s the benefit to the driver? The increased payload and towing specs are just not that compelling. Honestly this truck offers me no benefit compared with its competition to make up for its looks…. Which are simply hideous. The only singular model that differentiates itself is the TRD PRO, since it will beat the Raptor or TRX on fuel efficiency. But other than that, Rivian and the F-150 Lightening are superior on almost every metric, and if they prove anywhere close to as reliable, there will be no case for the new Tundra unless its price massively undercuts the competition. I like my wife’s RAV4 Hybrid (our second) but I love my Tesla. I still love my ‘16 Tundra, but I just don’t see why I should trade up. Or maybe its just because the ‘22 is so ugly in every angle that I can’t see it straight. I’m just so underwhelmed after waiting for 14 years.

Will the hybrid have the option of an EV only mode over limited distance similar to the RAV4 Prime? Didn’t hear that anywhere.
