My 2011 Tundra dash showed the traction control light on, the check engine light on and the 4 Lo light blinking. Took truck to my mechanic. He says it's got a P2442 code. Truck has 116,242 for mileage. I've found a TSB posted on the forum that says Toyota will repair the air injection system on 2007 to 2010 pickups under extended warranty coverage. Looks like I'm out of luck since my truck is a 2011. I do have an extended warranty but I THINK it expires at 100k. Am I reading the TSB correctly?

I had the exact same thing happen this winter in my 2011. I called and I was passed the warranty mileage and year. I got the bypass module from Hewitt and it fixed everything just fine.

FYI I was stubborn at first and decided I was going to just replace the valve on bank 1. Two days after I installed it the valve on bank 2 to started throwing a code. Luckily Rock Auto took the valve back and I ordered the module.

Under TSB wouldn't Toyota be ordered to fix it regardless of mileage or how old the truck is?

Thats for “recalls”. TSB’s apply only within warranty period/mileage.

Yup, I know the difference, but I didnt't pay for the TSB service and my truck was waaay out of warranty.... all my windows froze open because the master switch under a TSB took a dump... stealership replaced the whole switch and did it for free 99... the recall on my ECU, mat and accelerator still have not been performed and are still open...

Actually your issue sounds like it was resolved under a RECALL, 12V491000, not a TSB. https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/Toyota/TUNDRA/2007/visibility%3Apower%20window%20devices%20and%20controls/recall/12V491000

I guess... it did say TSB on the sheet, since it wasn't on the recall list, i printed it out and took it in... I have posted that sheet a few times on here... i may still have the sheet with the dealership receipt..

My 14 Camry had a recall on the torque converter and it was covered until 125k. I found out late at 127,xxx and my dealership still replaced it. This is without any warranty. Would be worth inquiring about it with your dealer.

Youre right. 8year/150k. Guess I forgot within the year of it being replaced.

The air injection system has several different failure modes. You can spin your wheels now and try to get the dealership to fix the problem you have, but be aware that it's likely to break again in the future. You could get the bypass kit and be done with it now and forever.
