Small electrical plug left of air box

I noticed this small electrical plug left of the air box, what is it for?

 

I have the same thing. I've never noticed it before. One wire, it can't be too important...

 

Is it white with a black stripe? Is so it is definitely a ground wire for some kind of add on higher trim package option.

I will have to look and see if mine has this.

 

It's kind of a light green... I was trying to think of what upper level trim package item it might be for, but can't come up with that item.

Edit: Just thought that that may be for the hood latch switch for the factory alarm, but I would've thought that maybe the connector would be closer to the latch itself. I've never looked under the hood of a truck with that function.

 

I'll look tomorrow on mine and see if that wire is hooked up , I do have the hood alarm that I didn't know I had till I popped my hood and shut my doors (double locked with the remote to auto off my lights) and went to open my hood , good thing the horns are right there. Never jumped so hard in my life.

 

That looks like a connector for a horn. Unplug one of the ones on the regular horn and see if it is the same plug. Didn't some of these trucks have a 3rd horn just for the factory alarm?

 

The factory alarm uses the front two horns in grille same with hood open alarm.
