Tried turning slightly in both directions, still wont unlock. I saw in another thread about pulling up tab and shifting to neutral to move truck to help unlock. where is this tab and any other ideas? Is it possible something is broken and if so how to fix?

Tab is under the steering wheel. Try jerking the wheel left to right while turning the key

Hasn't happened in my Tundra but I have had it happen in other vehicles. Usually, crank the wheel to right, like really crank and jiggle the ignition at the same time releases it. The steering wheel covers aren't hard to remove to get a better view to see what the hang up might be.

About 7 o’clock looking at the wheel and behind/under the turn signal

I removed the lower cover, but can't get at 2 of the screws to remove the 2 piece column cover because the wheel is locked and they are blocked. Can I get to the tab with out the column cover removed. I can't find the tab.
I really think the lock is broken or jammed up somehow. Is there away to get this unlocked. Will I need to somehow remove the key cylinder to get at the lock and unlock the steering wheel?
