My wife bakes it with honey added. Occasionally some minced jalapenos too.

Hushed puppies are also acceptable at a BBQ place. When I make them I use House Autry onion mix and add minced onions

    Don’t confuse them Ray.
    Your location says Oregon.
You’re just trying to throw them off the scent. Good idea.
We don’t want all the northerners crowding up the gulf coast.:D

You left Smoky Bones out of that mix. But their wings aren't bad.

Liquid smoke or food service BBQ are deal breakers. But to repeat again, if you like it that's authentic enough.

Pretty close myself… however, we have lots of peaches as well.
    Peach pie is damn good.
    Lemon ice box
    Key lime pie
    Apple pie

These could all put up a good fight with pecan pie.

Peaches are unusual. GA peaches are awesome. So are the ones from SE VA and NE NC. When I was little my grandmother lived in Trenton. NJ peaches were great too.

I've just presumed you can't get out-of-region peaches. Is it like a banana - you can pick it green and it'll ripen on the boat? Not sure I've ever had a peach from anywhere but the south - and possibly not from anywhere but Texas.
