yeah we’re all okay. It was me, my girlfriend and her daughter. Girlfriend daughter has a car seat so she is okay. We got a little lower back pain. GF has some leg pain, back pain and neck pain. At the moment we didn’t really feel anything but after a few hours then it starts to set in. We lawyered up. Will keep posted.

Here’s a video of the accident. Top left corner of the video like about 10 seconds in. A neighbor had security footage of it.

So we’re you slowing dow to make a turn?

It sure is amazing the brute force in an accident.

Your lawyer will probably have you wait to settle out on anything to make sure any hidden injuries are covered. My brother was hit in his Subaru commuter car by an F350 pulling a huge loaded horse trailer at 35 mph. He ran the light and t-boned my brother. His wife was in the front passenger seat. He has yet to settle on this claim since he has had neck problems and headaches. His wife settled out early and some injuries arose and now they are not covered.

i always use my blinker specially on that corner. It all happen so fast. The moment she hit me, my hand was still on the 9 and 3 o clock on the steering wheel. I wonder if I accidentally hit the blinker when I got hit or when I was moving the steering wheel the blinker went off. Either way she didn’t even brake to avoid me or try to steer away. I know my brake light and signal was working. Changed it out a when I bought the truck. End of the day she’s still at fault.

I don’t doubt that one bit but I also know our justice system can sometimes not be fair at the end of the day, especially if that teens family has money and a good lawyer !

You got rear ended. Following too closely. Failure to maintain control of the vehicle. Unless they can prove you had no brake lights at the time of the accident, you're fine.

Me too. I got a really good deal on the wheels too. I got some spidertrax spacer on it to make the wheels more flush with the fenders.

My son has a mustang. He rear ended an old couple one day driving for door dash. Prophecy fulfilled.

Just a little update on this case. So the truck has frame damage. The insurance cashed me out 20k dollars. My personal injury case is still pending.

$20k?? That's got a little hush money in it. Market is high, but no way the insured value is that high.

I wash I could. I have a 2017 Tacoma which would love to see those tires put to good use. The Cap, wheel/tires and everything else I did to the truck is going to insurance.

Ooof. Now we know why the higher payout. I'm guessing the mint condition, plus the $1000-1400+ to replace wheels, $800-1200 for the cap, and who knows what else was their way of "Yeah, not gonna waste lawyer money on a dude disputing this...."

I imagine they'll probably pull a good $8-9k out of it at auction if it makes it there with all those extras on it, and we may see it here on the forum again. Something tells me a person will likely pilfer at least the wheels before it makes it to auction though.

Yup. Someone at the collision place or whoever is going to come up with a set of brand new tires and mint condition wheels. I have about 1k miles on the tires. they'll slap on some donuts and off the auction it goes.

It's worth mentioning insurance doesn't typically pay out on vehicle mods and improvement. You have to tell them about it in advance and have it added to your policy. I pay extra to have all the mods and upgrades on my truck covered. They would pay me vehicle value plus $8,000 if it's ever totaled.

I wonder what the extent of the damage would have been if you would have had a high clearance/heavy duty bumper like that from Coastal Off Road? From the pictures, the damage doesn't look all that bad or extensive. I also wonder if it wouldn't need scrapped if these 1st Gens frames were boxed?
