06 tundra AC with 133k Miles. Was sitting at a stoplight and engine shut off. Pushed it into a parking lot. Gave it ten minutes and book Started up strong. Drove stoped and drove again then the next time I jumped in it won’t start up. Then five minutes later it starts up strong. No check engine light.

Bad ground maybe, or the battery may be loose

Sounds like a sensor, maybe crank position sensor? Could be a poor ground also.

Question: Did it just drop dead, like no lights on anything? Or did it quickly stumble to stop running, but all lights inside on?

This should help isolate whether it's a power issue or a drivetrain issue, I think.

I chased the problem for months with another truck (Nissan) and it turned out to be a bad key switch. Corrosion on the contacts for the "On" position led to intermittent contact. The engine would cut out while driving, or at a stoplight, or at any time at all.

Start your truck, then grab the key and wiggle it around...
