Do not run it without some load even a light bulb in a work light would work.

    We got power !
If you need to do laundry, take a shower, sit in the AC, have a hot meal or whatever, our doors are open.

We are in Greenwell Springs, super easy to get to off 12 @ Oniel and Frenchtown.

Well, we’re back home. The ride back went much smoother. However, the destruction I saw between Baton Rouge and Hammond was not what I had expected. Just from the interstate, there’s acres of pine trees snapped in half. Not one or two…all of them.
I imagine it was a tornado being that it was like the hand of God swiped down and didn’t miss one. And the fact that it’s only about 20 minutes from our house is affirmation that it was a good time to not stay. We are very thankful that we only have some debris to clean up. I will be spending the next few days/weeks helping our neighbors remove downed trees. Should be fun.

Hey everyone. We are safe, and among the very lucky to not receive any damage. We are in Houma and a large part of Terrebonne Parish is demolished. I went through my hometown of Cut Off and surrounding city’s (lower Lafourche) yesterday and it looks like a damn bomb went off.

Yeah, I went in and around Slidell to help my BIL with his RV park. Hammond got it pretty bad, but Laplace was mind blowing. Can only imagine how the lower parishes look.
oh yeah, I don’t blame you one bit. I know “hurricane veterans” in N.O. and surrounding parishes that say “never again” just from this one storm.

A buddy of mine is a meteorologist at WAFB, dude said they clocked consistent winds at 172 or 174 (I forget the actual nbr) near the southern coast. The highest ever recorded.
