It's subtle but I think there is a seam. On that picture with the rear 3/4 angle it looks like there is a tiny seam from the bumper line that extends to rear fender flare. I had the same thought at first and agree that it would be a nightmare for repair but it looks like it's a separate piece.

Well, I guarantee I won't be buying a '22 Tundra until I drive it a few times in the dark to try it out.

These days a night test drive, if possible, is my preference anyway. I work on call 24/7 and live in a rural area, so headlight performance is a pretty important part of the equation of safety, and ease of use.

Even better if I can test drive at night, in utter shit weather. I want to test not only lights but also wipers and general visibility in less than ideal conditions. How well does water flow around the side glass, how much turbulence is there on the rear glass? Does it remain clear of snow and rain at speed, or will it be covered in water or snow?

Why do you have to return it? Buy it out at lease end.

Buying price is $42,500, then I will have to pay registration and tag, Mississippi is pretty expensive, with a Toyota lease, I get all services and insurance for free. But since is the last V8, I am considering buying it

Toyota has a big stake in Yamaha these days and Yamaha produces many of the EV motors used all kinds of brands...I'd guess Toyota gets the pick of the litter...when it comes to EV motors...

I zoomed in and see the same thing. Very tight panel gap, so kudos to Toyota for the tight fit, even if I’m not stoked about the cosmetics.

The truck also appears to be on 20” wheels, and that’s a deal breaker for me. So I will be curious what wheel options there will be, although I’ll probably just end up saving my ducats and biding my time to get a TRD Pro anyway and those will run a forged BBS 18”.

I missed the Pro part. I lease also and my buy out is around $25k. I will definitely buy at lease end. I was at the dealer yesterday getting my alarm activated and they had around 10 used tundras. Lowest one was priced at $41k. It’s insane and I don’t see Toyota giving deals on the 2022.

I'm guessing these maybe 2wd models based on the interior pics look like they are missing 4wd switch. I've always thought the stance of a 4wd looked so much better. I like the look of the pro we've seen more than these. Not a huge fan of the grill though I think it would look a lot better if the Toyota logo was centered instead of up top.

Our 2020 Toyota has an actual button with a moon/sun logo, if you push it at night it will toggle between full bright, normal dim and screen off. If you put it into reverse, the screen comes back on whilst in reverse.
BTW, all of the radio data is also displayed in the instrument cluster, so having the screen off the radio still works and you can just see what it's doing in the cluster.

Maybe he realizes that a ton of the updates to mainly the engine, mpg, etc. are quite awesome and it'll be pretty easy to convert that odd looking truck into something sick with some tasteful mods like tires, suspension, etc.

You're all literally just looking at a few pictures and flipping out, it's quite comical.

The fact that these the 2022's are entering into a whole nuther category of cost and "status" leaves me somewhat mourning the loss of an affordable and reliable work and camping truck. Gentrification isn't always the best thing in my book, but that's just me.

I bet it'll be like the current Tundra screen which can be turned off completely. I like the Ram design though there's a physical button for turning the screen off (at least in my wife's Ram 1500), but it's pretty easy to get to the settings page in the current Tundra to turn the screen off.

Our ES automatically adjusts the screen from day to night. I thought the Tundra.did also, I'll have to check. There is no glare, lol. The stuff people complain about when they have already decided not to like something .

Hmm. People whine because Toyota was not keeping up with the competition, people whine because they step up their game. You do have the option of a loaded platinum or TRD Pro, or you can buy the base SR, or maybe somewhere in between.
I personally would want the SR5 TRD Offroad with locker, CC, MTS, and the 360 camera. Don’t need all the other fluff.
Not too sure about the front end length, looks longer than the Gen3

what is their obsession with large chunks of grey plastic on the interior? It looks so cheap. Also, I hope those wheel well covers aren't on every trim. Cross your fingers the PRO really blows our hats off

I’m not optimistic about pricing on the new Tundra. Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see a TRD Pro or loaded up Platinum going for near $70K. Even an SR5 with a decent equipment level will probably end up in the low to mid $50K range.

At that point as much as I would like a new truck I have to pause and ask myself what else can be had for $55K-$70K? I plan to keep my current 2007 anyway, so I will still have a truck for my truck needs.

If I’m willing to spend $55-$70K on a new vehicle, do I even want it to be a truck at that price? I can find some very compelling luxury cars or sport sedans for that kind of coin that will be faster, better handling, and probably more comfortable for that kind of coin. Many of them have AWD too, so inclement weather capabilities are there until snow is deep enough to bust out the old Tundra.

Will be an interesting decision in a few more years when supply catches back up with demand on dealer lots.

What sucks is that the interior is actually beautiful. I showed my wife those exterior pics and she had a look of disgust.

I buy a truck because I think need a truck. If you don't need a truck, why on earth would you pay a fortune for one and another fortune in fuel vs a car as you described?
On another note, I laugh at all the idiots in their $60k fords, Rams, and Chevys talking about my Lexus and how they "can't afford one", I tell them, hell, I bought this used for 1/3 of what you paid for yours and it will be around when your shitbox is long gone.

I don't hate it, still think it looks decent but some of their styling choices like the horseshoe mustache chrome and the rear bumper are just odd. Grille insert and black part of the bumper look to be a glossy black in the first pic and the 3rd pic is just kinda washed out making it look grey. only pic that's missing from the tundra crew post is the one showing the crewmax next to the double cab.
