hi all! I am sick of waiting for the 2022 so on the hunt for a 2021. Issue I am having is inventory is so low I cant test drive every trim to know what I want.

I am after the smoothest riding tundra. Expectations are set that it wont drive as smooth as a Ram but I still want to select the smoothest riding trim.

I test drove a limited, TRD Sport TRD offroad...I could barely tell the difference in the smoothness of the drive which made me think to just get a Platinum since I want the creature comforts.

My question is...I know the TRD Pro is meant for serious off-roading but does it drive much smoother than the other trims? Ive loooked through threads around building a "Platinum Pro" and all that but didnt see much data comparing the on road drive.

Sorry for asking this question, I just cant seem to get my hands on a TRD pro to test drive!

The platinum is soft and smooth. And leans in corners. However I upgraded to TRD pro suspension and I personally think it rides nicer at speed and not as floaty. ;)

If you are going to get rid of all the chrome and add sway bars down the road you will save $$ by buying the TRD Sport. Everything is color matched and comes with the sway bars.

But then your mirrors do not fold, you do not have nice leather, your seats are not cooled, etc. Much easier to change the suspension.

I ran into the same inventory problem when I was looking, but was able to find some used ones to test drive to check out the different trim levels. I decided to go with either the Platinum or 1794 for the interior comforts/features, but with the TRD Off Road package to soften things up a bit and for some light off roading. My dealer found me a 1794 TRD OR so that's what I went with and have been very, very happy with it.

Thanks everyone for all of the advice. I luckily just found a TRD PRO in back that is 30 days out so I am evaluating the packages to see if I should pull the trigger. Anyone know an easy way to see the "creature comforts" I wont get in a TRD Pro that I would get in a platinum?

Others will know better than I do, but off the top of my head:

    - I believe the Platinum has auto dimming, power folding mirrors that dip in reverse and I don't thin the PRO has them.
    - Platinum has upgraded perforated leather which includes ventilation (in addition to heated seats). Platinum driver's seat includes more adjustment (thigh extender, not sure about other adjustments), with memory.

If you want the full details, I think this is the best place to look, as it outlines all features, both standard and optional, and is broken down by trim level:

PRO suspension should be the smoothest ride
