Hey guys, so I picked up my new truck and have an appointment to get the bedliner sprayed in this Thursday. I have a set of OEM bed lights I need to install and was curious if this should technically be done before or after the spray in liner? Thanks!

I would drill the holes for the mounting and put the same size screws in.....not the actual light screws, leave them in and let them spray the bed. After it dries discard those screws and the mount the lights with the OEM screws.

Does anyone else have the OEM kit? The one I bought is part number 00016-34089 and it looks like it’s possibly meant for the Tacoma. Just looking to confirm before I drill holes in the bed that I have the right kit and the wiring will reach and the connectors will plug in the harness and dash. Thanks for any help!

They could have changed the part #.

    Can you post a picture?

For sure, what exactly do you want a picture of? When I looked up the part number for the install instructions (which oddly didn’t come in the box) I found 2 different pdf documents from Southeast Toyota Distributors LLC that shows the same part number being installed on a Tacoma and the second document is for the 2015 Tundra. Luckily the Tundra instructions come with a printable drill template. I’m guessing it’ll work, but let me know what you’d like a picture of and I’ll gladly upload it. Thanks

For clarity, I bought these back in 2017 when I had my 2017 because they were available and I found several posts saying they’d work fine. I never got around to installing them and I’ve now traded in the 17 for a 19 TRD Pro and figured I’d get them installed before the bed cap comes in, right after the liner is installed. I just don’t want to proceed if I’m gonna have a problem. I’d rather catch it before there’s holes in my bed ha! Maybe I should just wait until after the bed liner is installed so I have more time to research this.

    Of the light itself.
I'm sure they will fit since everything I've seen they use the lights in both trucks.

Thanks! I was concerned the connectors would be wrong for the harness since mine is a 2019, but I think I’ll be fine. I just found out I have another problem anyhow…guess I have to choose between the OEM bed lock or the bed lights. I guess they must both use the same power source and plug in using the same connector on the harness.

Thinking about adding bed lights like this, but do you know if the additional lights to the circuit will pull too much juice and not work? Thought I read that somewhere on another thread about bed lighting. Also, bed is already sprayed, so any additional difficulty with installation?

Just wondering if you hooked up your lights, how it went and any pictures and if you could verfiy if the wire is still a dark gray one you used to power them?

Not sure if this was a question intended for me or not, but I have not installed them yet. Things have gotten more complicated for me now. After the bedliner was installed I decided I wanted a cap so I ordered a Smartcap from RSI and a Bedrug. So now I have all of the above installed and now it’s time to tackle lighting. I’m thinking I may go a different route now that I have the cap installed. Maybe something overhead triggered by a switch on the windows. I gotta take some time and draw up a schematic since I’d want it to work with all three windows.
