Are people actually paying this kind of money for a F***?

I found this just casually browsing eBay. Are sellers out of their effing minds to want this much for a used F***? Are people actually stupid enough to pay that much for one? I found quite a few similar Tacomas for that kind of money. What's the world coming to?

    Too many, but not enough....
market is nuts and so are buyers. My 2011 matrix was worth 6500 when i checked last week. I paid 5000 for it like 6 years ago with half the miles.

Wait until China invades Tawain and takes over TSMC, the major supplier of all cutting edge integrated circuits.

You'll want to revert to a 1970s vehicle after that point.

I'm actually tossing around an idea to sell my '07 Tundra if I can flip it for significantly more that the $12.3K I paid for it in Feb '20. Still on has 145K. It's just that it's too big for me to drive daily.

If you flipped it, what would you replace it with? I test drove two UZJ100 Land Cruiser's yesterday. Quite nice and although both a bit old, both were solid. I'm kind of regretting I test drove them. V8 power. Lots of upgrade possibilities......damnit

I have my eyes on a few older Tacoma Access cabs. I'd prefer the Xtracab predecessor of the Tacoma but those are getting scarce. I'll even look into an older 2nd or 3rd gen 4-Runner. Last I looked they were even less expensive than a Tacoma. It has to be a 4X4 for the bad winter month I encounter.
14-15 mpgs with the Tundra is really taking a hit on my budget.

For what it's worth...I have Friday off. Going back to look over the 2003 LC with a toothbrush. Two owners. Both in CO. Full maintenance records. Got the Carfax. Highest trim level with optional rear locker. MSRP was $54K new in 2003! 166K miles. There is a 2019 near me going for $91K! The LC's are a different animal. @ Toytec has a very decent OME lift for less than $1100. Hmm.......

The LC I'm looking at is 10/17. Not great but V8. My 14 isn't hurting my budget at all, but it would be nice to hit some trails here with a narrower ride and not beat the crap out of my 14. What's not surprising is the LC payload is a bit higher than my 14 DC.

That would be 17-18k here in Wisco. Do what’s best for you, but you better stick around the forum or I’ll come find your new ride and slash the tires.

Wise choices. Less is more. My 09 Taco was nice. Had the small 2.7L but had a manual transmission. You actually needed that manual to get the most out of it. What I really like about the LC I'm considering is the manual shift for the transfer case and center locking diff and rear locker. No computer control crap. The premium JBL stereo is actually quite good. 300 watt sub and rear facing DVD, Luxury interior. Moon roof. Lots of space, especially if you need to remove the 2nd row. Roof rack to mount my kayaks.

I’ve been noticing more stock on the lot with various dealers. Even the little local “Used car Lot” has inventory.
I know what I’ve been seeing, price wise with 3/4 ton pick ups in my travels. Glad I don’t need o e just yet….

They have had some amazing things over the years, and prices are not bad. Have to check the site all the time because stock changes all the time.

Looked it over again today. Another test drive. Dealer wouldn't budge from the selling price without trading in my Tundra which wasn't going to happen. They offered plenty for my Tundra but I wanted the LC as a second vehicle. I'll just wait until prices settle down. No hurry. I definitely want a decent older LC to have some fun with. Don't want one modded out. Looking for bone stock.

I've seen dealers like the one that sells those cool JDM vehicles. Their prices are quite high. The other problem is that insurers often won't insure gray market vehicles especially not RHD ones. I had a gray market Mercedes years ago and after shopping all around I found one that would but would insure for liability only.
I just got my Tundra ready for sale. I just need to list it.
