Sanded and ready for prime and paint. I considered powder coating but the $600 price tag a 2 week wait made the decision for me

I've done lots of work to my cars in parking lots. Usually on a tight time schedule (start Friday night at 7pm and be done by Sunday night). This is impressive so far.

I am lucky that I have a parking lot right behind my place. Empty after 6pm. Build is really getting exciting now!

Top and bottom of the bed primed. Only option is flat black.

I've almost got all of the Alupanel and Maxmetal cut for the doors and the roof and sleeping platform. First step is adding aluminum angle stiffener to the panel.
I decided to skip full black paint on the top as it would be covered and never seen again. The color you ae seeing is the primer.

Attached with the SS hinges and for the most part water protection provided by the poly hinge.

I will have to add some angle for a catch for the latches.

Decided on the product below for the doors, may end up using it to seal the top and bottom of the tent.

    Very clean install. Great product.

Got it on the truck last night, only one panel on her but it gives a good idea of the look.

3m makes a marine sealant that works really well, kinda cream colored.

Spent the long weekend up in Taylor park riding dirt bikes and side by sides with the boys, dont worry I'm back at it!IMG_0329.jpg

Working on the lapping, bought some backer rod and black sikaflex for this connection point.
    IMG_0294.jpg

    Backer rod installed
    IMG_0295.jpg

Do not want any leaks here, I have these two sections secured together with 12 SS #10 machine screws and going to add more. The backer rod and sealant will provide a layer of cushion between the top and bottom, not sure if this will work but willing to try as it looks to be the only option to stay water tight. let me know if yall have any suggestions.

I would suggest some type of silicon or rubber based weatherstripping.

My door strip is torn and I’ve stuffed it with backer rod to get it to stop whistling. It has only taken 3-4 months for that backer rod to fall completely flat from being under pressure.
