What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Nice, heard fishing was great a couple of weeks ago. I didn't seeing any trail names besides the one to Inyo Craters but the entire section off of Mammoth Scenic Loop had a lot of options. Sitting in the office wishing I was still up there.

 

I think mammoth lakes is near where we got into some fun backpacking, ended up at thousand island lake(look it up) where a momma bear and two Cubs got all of our food except one guys bag. I know for a fact those bears were probably tripping for a few days……..

 

Lol. A HUGE brown bear walked past me while fishing, checked out my fishing gear on the ground and just kept strolling by.
Didn’t make it to Thousand Island lake but will be back up there first chance I get. Really need like a week+, I was there for only 3 days.

 

Changed ou the cup holder inserts, got tired of my drinks moving. $16 on ebay, installed in less than 5 min

 

I probably bought from same seller, the kit was an easy install. Worked fairly well. But irked me the rears didn't match the fronts. So I bought a replacement cupholder assembly, in woodgrain (I did full woodgrain upgrade) which came with new foams.

I'm surprised nobody is making re-pop foams in OEM config. This design may not rip on the tips like OEM an do, but they tend to stretch and stay fallen in if you tend to use larger cups that fill the entire opening. No innuendo intended.

 

Has Erik dropped any hints yet?

I got some of those ebay deals too, they work but after some time in the sun mine are now closer to purple than black.

 

I was there a couple weeks ago, I drove up to Coyote Flats outside of Bishop which is a very fun, beautiful trail. Then I went around the hot springs behind the Mammoth Airport. Then went around Parker Lake and Lundy Lake. Then took the 120 around the bottom of Mono Lake back to Bishop area. Such an amazing area up there. Tons of little forest trails all over the place!

 

He was admiring how well my frame has been soaking up the Fluid Film the other day. I think his wife is jealous of the relationship he has with Fluid Film.

 

Found some level ground this am, front adjustments look good, so alignment now as I drink a Nitro.

 

I can never see this Charlie Chaplin re-pop meme without looking at that guy and thinking of Sugar Ray - a band I absolutely cannot stand.

Don't remember, but was the pedal mushy before the 14WA brakes? If not, I'm sure you could find somebody to swap with and take their old calipers and rotors.

 

The pedal feel on this truck has never been great, especially compared to every other vehicle I've owned. But in the past adjusting the drums and LSPV helped a bit. What I'm experiencing since the 14WA swap is FAR, worse. The only thing I've been able to see a slight improvement from is burping the ABS. But even still, it sucks. I really want to make them work since so many other people have done the 14WA swap and not had this issue. I'm going to keep trying but I may eventually give up. If that happens I'm replacing everything, booster, master(again) rear drum components. I'm starting over from scratch if I make another change. That's why I was trying to source those hard lines today just incase something is wrong with mine.

 

Thanks for the to do list lol. Coyote flats is in the plans for next spring. Been trying to make it out there for a couple years now. Hopefully next year it’ll work out.

 

Hi there, I too, was looking for a clear OEM assembly. NADA, so I went with the DEPO. Found them on eBay Sunday night. I ordered that night, and they showed up early this morning! They look great, will install after the LEDS I will order show up!
The only minor problem I see, is the bulb socket. OEM has a 3157 socket, and the DEPO has a P21. The 3157 socket will however fit into the DEPO socket.

the color temp is around 5500k, but the vleds are twice as bright at 360LM-W 300LM-A vs. Superbrite at 192 Lumen W, can't find the Amber output.

However that being said, the vleds are hella bright, maybe almost too bright. Too bright at night, sometimes can be a bad thing! However the 390 White lm is perfect for a DRL, which is the whole point of this swap out![/QUOTE]

 

Tentative plan is to figure out:

1. DRL on (no switch on the stalk so either I do a separate switch, attempt to upgrade the stalk, or just add a fuse to trigger) is white signal light (no low beam headlight b/c I will run performance halogen and don't want to "waste" them during daylight.
2. Turn / hazard always trumps all other signals, goes to flashing amber
3. Parking light goes to dimmed amber in the signal light

I'd steal the parking light and turn signal off the OEM connectors but abandon the H4 connectors and do a fully independent harness with triggers off the stalk.

At least that's the plan. Not sure exactly how much trouble I'm looking at trying to un-DRL my low beams but I definitely do not want to waste halogen filaments for DLR purposes.

I haven't received my DEPO's yet but I'll take a closer look at the 3157CK, thanks for the link!

 

I'm inclined to believe with these trucks, it's all about the rear brakes. If you can get them dialed in, then the system works great. If not, mushy pedal and white knuckles. I would revisit the rears. Inspect the pads and assembly and see if some burping or adjustments to the rear star wheels or LSPV may help. I've been through periods with mine when I was ready to take it the dealer *gasp* and let them bleed and adjust it. But I kept tinkering with the drag on each wheel and the position of the LSPV and currently my brakes feel great. Have had issues with front caliper pistons sticking too. Hope you find a solution!

So my question, What have you guys found that is a good, much brighter than stock Headlights Headlights.. I want something about 5000K, fairly simple to install, but actually works and you are happy with!
It doesn't have to be just the bulb, I'll replace the whole assembly if I have too.

No boys here but good clean stock housings and a decent halogen bulb will perform fine

 

So it may not have been Innovited. I've had similar things happen with Amazon, and Walmart for that matter. I could see someone buying a new set, throwing their old burned up shit back in the box, then saying "nope nothing wrong just didn't like them" they get thrown back in the bin and sent out like new.

 

Coyote Flat is soo worth it. Such an amazing place up at 10,000 feet. Even had a seasonal lake all to myself the first time i went up there a couple years ago.
