Yeah. Plenty of fence damage. Had to get out and screw in a couple of runners that shook loose from a neighbor’s post right before the worst of it hit. My side of the house would’ve been fine, but if that fence would’ve come loose, the neighbors would have had some problems.

It was crazy seeing that thing buckle and even crazier pushing against intermittent gusts. LOL

sometimes buying a carbon monoxide monitor to put inside near where the generator is can help. some have put outside a window so they can hear and make sure it's getting tampered with/stolen and carbon monoxide was leaking through the window and killed them.
echo what was said about plugging in and turning off breaker as said before.
read manual on generator quick if you can to see how to run it, how often to kill it, troubleshoot it if it is running but not powering anything, etc.
buy extra oil for the generator.
lock up the generator to something that can't be hauled off. you'd be surprised how ballsy people are. stay armed!
run it minimally if possible. if you can keep a fridge/freezer going for food, it's good. food will be scarce for a lil bit.
in terms of insurance....pictures, pictures, pictures! hopefully you have a copy of your policy handy whether digital or hard copy. adjusters will be running through y'all like cattle. don't be afraid to ask for another adjuster. go into attics and look for separated boards/broken boards, etc.
push on your brick walls. sometimes they'll move in and out more than they should. the whole wall will most likely need to be replaced since the brick ties weren't done properly or broke. verify windows and seals. with all the pressure, they can shift and lose their seal. keep names and numbers of everyone you talk to about insurance claims...even times/dates!
i'm sure there's more, but that's what came to mind quickly for me.

This may have been mentioned previously but I missed it if it was. Make sure your generator exhaust is outside where the wind can take it away. You don't want the fumes backing up into the garage where they can seep into the house.

Hands down the worst wind we've ever been in and I'd be just fine if I never repeat it
Powers going to be out for a long time, cell is spotty.
Only one tree down and it missed the AC unit by inches. It'll take a week or so to clean up the yard from all the debris. Sadly at least 10 homes out of the 40 in our area have tree's in the middle of them.

Rough night for this Tundra, not mine.

I hope y'all can recover well. I was in baton Rouge while waiting for electricity to come back on in Iowa/Lake Charles area. It took 3 weeks and I was in an area that didn't get it as bad as main lake charles. Sister in law was out for 42 days. Others I know for 2 months. Good luck to yall out there. I truly estimate most of the areas that got hit hard will be down for about 4 weeks or so

I am happy we left. My neighbors stayed and said never again. Flood water was within inches from coming in their house. A church down the street had the entire roof blown off. I thank God for His protection.
