    Hey Everyone!

New Tundra owner here, I'm looking to get the grey on my grill surround and hood bulge to color match the white. I know you can buy a new grill and bulge, just wondering if anyone has tried to paint them? I don't really want a new grill as I'm happy with this honeycomb and wondering if I could save some money by painting it myself.

    Thanks!

Yes you can paint it or wrap it with vinyl, some members have.

With yours not being chrome, should be super easy to get it painted. You could do it yourself or I'm sure a shop would do it. Those pieces come off without much effort. Hardest part will be removing the grille insert but shouldn't be too difficult.

I would try first to mask off the grill for painting without removing it. I haven't tried the grill removal from surround myself but from what I've read many break off tabs when attempting it.

    Welcome!

yes I believe you would save couple hundred dollars. I had some custom paint made and bought top-of-the-line other stuff like clearcoat and paid about 130 for everything total.

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
Welcome from SoCal. Nice DCLB (but those steelies got to go!) Do it yourself. Plenty of vids on how to prep, and good ol' Duplicolor 040 Superwhite and clear should get the job done fine w/o hurting the wallet.

Make sure you get a good quality adhesive too.

800 to 1000 grit sandpaper to sand the grill.
