YEA....today marks 1 year since laura hit us in Lake Charles, LA area. As bad as it sounds, we really hope it stays to lafayette and east of that. looks like it's gonna hit more baton rouge and new orleans. sucks for them for sure, but there are still lots of people struggling here in the area

    We're ready.

I have 6 more generators to prep and set up for the old folks in our neighborhood, my wife takes them all to the grocery stores and the pharmacy. Its a lot of work but we've been doing it for years. Theres only one way in/out of here so when it comes, we're in for the long haul.

That truly is awesome that she does that for them and both of you look after them. I'm sure they appreciate it. :hattip:

We didn't intend to do this, it started with 1 and then grew from there, sometimes its more, sometimes less but mostly its because they don't have anyone else to do it. I usually start getting them ready way before this but I've busy this year and kinda lazy. lol

I might possibly be considered to be within the cone-of-uncertainty (though they profess to be certain some 48 hours out). So before everyone went ape sh!t I filled up the 38 gallon tank. Ran through Costco. And have made sure I've got a stack of books and three candles. :hattip:

Topped of my tank. 1st gas station was empty. Went to one more in country on way home and no problems filling up. Gonna top off wife's too. No reason for it here, but people got a lil PTSD from Laura and Delta

Looks like we'll be safe. I had to go work in a plant on Friday and people were getting hurricane ready. My wife works in another plant full time and they told most people to work from home so they could get ready. But looks like mowt we'll get is about 40-50 mph gusts max(thankfully)

Stay safe down there. I'm praying it doesn't get as strong as they say and that tornadoes are a minimum since I may be on the eastern side in NE MS.

We're all buttoned up and ready to go. Time to go have a drink on the front porch and watch the wind blow. If the wind from this is anything like Gustav its gonna be nuts, I'll try and get some video of the 60' trees bending to 30* + and springing back up.

Thanks god for a great wife and good tequila !
