First Post here and I'm hoping you guys have all the answers.

I have a 2016 pro and have been running LT285/75/18 (33') on my stock wheels. I wanna keep the stock wheels but increase the tire size to 35" soon before a hunting trip this fall.

I'm running the Toyo Open Country R/T and I love them. It's a great compromise between street and off road. I want to put the same tires on only larger.

Any recommendations? Would i need a little lift to get them to fit and also would I need spacers?

    What do you guys think?

Lots of info in the lifts and tires section.

35s are the beginning of regear territory, you'll likely need to do a cab mount chop, a lift that could lead to needing new UCAs to fix alignment, and possibly wheel well trimming or bumper shims. Stock offset may hinder some of this unless you are going to use spacers.

285/75s are almost 35s not 33s. Are you sure that’s the size you are running?

I double checked the size. I just got off the phone with the guys at Coach builder and I’m thinking of ordering the TRD PRO kit and the Bora wheel spacers. They’re saying that I should be able to upgrade tire size to 295/70/18 in the Toyo Open Country R/T with minimal issues. Thoughts?

If you want to go 295/70, you could do that without any mods except removal of the small front mud flap. There’s a whole thread dedicated to pros with 295/70s.

17 Pro here running Toyo AT3s 295/70/18 stock. Bought spacers for the front didn’t need them so I sent them back.
285/75/would be taller the 295/70 wider

Hmm, I’m still finding good info on this forum. Thank you all for your feedback. I guess the next size up in tire would be 35x12.5x18 correct. I definitely want to go a little bigger in tire size than the 285 and 295. I see the difference now. Not much.

After being able to looking at all the options, I'd have to spend about 4K and that would get about1" of lift added to the 2" I already have on my PRO. Doesn't make financial sense. Since I was due for new tires, I decided to just put the same size tires on and keep what I have.

I’d you’re going 35x12.5, you would need the coachbuilder kit, BMC and spacers(assuming you want to keep the stock wheels). Would recommend changing wheels to +18 or 25 offset.

Go on YouTube and watch 88rotors. They do this all the time. They normally use methods with a +18 offset and fits great.

35s measure 34.5” in diameter. Your 285/75R18s are taller (by very little, they’re 34.8”, but Goodyear says their 285/75R18s are 35.1”). They’re narrower than 35x12.5 by quite a lot.

I think the 285/75 is the perfect casual off-roading tire size if your truck is a daily driver. It’s skinny enough to work with factory UCAs and factory offset wheels with only a 2” lift up front, it doesn’t cause a huge mpg hit, and it’s almost 3” taller than stock size, which gives you about 1.5” of extra clearance for off-roading.
