A bit of a conundrum.....a good friend of mine named "Jun" sent me congrats on my 9th anniversary at my place of work. LinkedIn. The only other social site that I use to keep tabs with folks I've worked with over the years. I've worked for "Jun" twice over the years. Retired as a Major from the Air Force. MIT PHD degree in thermodynamics and a MBA in business from Harvard. Both times he was a VP for two different calibration companies. He knew my background and I did quit twice to go work for him. He still tries to get me to go back to Kali. Even now. I can name my salary and it would be quite substantial with 40 years in this calibration thing. That's not the reason for this post. Jun has a friend who's Marine son got severely injured several years ago while serving in Afghanistan. This young Marine had a 2nd brain surgery recently. The outcome wasn't written in stone. He knew it. This pic is of a physical therapy session after his 2nd brain surgery. His mom couldn't do it by herself so grandpa assisted his daughter to help stand his grandson. Her son was able to stand up and he saluted. I won't post the pic. Was sent to Jun and he forwarded the pic to me this morning. Needless to say the Marine's mom is now a Gold Star mom. I'd love to post the pic of this young Marine's last salute but out of respect I won't...........

Update...made a phone call, got more clarification about this pic and it's OK.....comments are his mom's.......not mine.

Michael...on his own, chose to STAND ....with whatever power he could muster, AND SALUTE. My dad...who was helping his only grandson during physical therapy and saw what Michael was doing...asked for a picture to be taken. (So glad he did....and if anyone knows my dad...he is not a real fan of pictures, but he felt this was THAT IMPORTANT. ) This is a picture of a UNITED STATES MARINE showing respect with the last bit of energy he had in this earthly life. But you entitled fools go ahead and kneel.
