He used Gtechniq for base layer and a second layer with another for a very fluid topcoat. I'll need to check with him what the second coat product was.

how much soap do you put in your cannon (assuming you use a foam cannon)? I use reset too and use about a cap-full to cap and a half.

I use the IK-FOAM-PRO12-SPRAYER which holds up to 5 gallons...I usually put in 2-3 cap fulls and fill it up around 2.5- 3 gallons. I always end up with extra even when doing my truck and a car. Probably need to dial it in a little better as I am probably wasting Reset.

 that seems like a lot...especially for a car that size. i'm sure the foaming is pretty good. Reset has such a high dilution ratio (400:1 i believe), i would think you could get by with a cap full since that's close to 1-2 oz per 4 or 5 gallons. (don't quote me on these numbers). but being that you're using the pump sprayer, i'm not as familiar with it.
either way, you results appear to be pretty good!

Lol. yes it probably is overkill. I usually do the truck and at least one other car when I use the sprayer but still end up with extra. I will try just a cap full next time and see how the foam looks.

No fancy befores/afters today as the owner already takes great care of his boat, but figured @Prostar 190 would enjoy the boat shots.

Do you have any opinions on the cquartZ vrs your previous coatings? Obviously not longevity but application process and initial performance comparisons.

I found that the Avalon King armor shield IV went on smoother and easier. The flash time was pretty quick as in I did a panel and it was flashed. But I let it sit about a minute or 2 longer and it still leveled very easily! As in it seems to be more forgiving. I used it on 2 different vehicles (pearl white odyssey and blazing blue tundra). The Avalon King came with a lil credit card sized card to help you slide the little felt applicator rag in between the grooves on the application block. Not too big a deal, but nice and a lot easier. Also came with a set of black gloves to use while applying and a very plush black rag to level it with. When washing(carpro reset), the water beaded well as expected when wet and during rains. After about 2-3 weeks, I topped with bead maker and seemed to enhance the gloss and sickness a bit.
The carpro cquartz UK 3.0 (used on my sequoia) seemed to go on slightly thicker with the same amount of drops per application(about 8-10). It flashed in about the same amount of time. It came with the block, applicator rags, a 16x16 microfiber suede rag, (no card to help insert applicator rags into block and no gloves). I had ordered an extra set of the MF suede rags (thanks again for that tip Tom!) and glad I did. Leveling was just a hair more difficult, but still pretty easy. This did come with reload, so I applied it about an hour after per instructions and it seemed to give it a last bit of smoothness and gloss. Also seemed to help with any possible imperfections. When washing with carpro reset like before (and during recent rain showers), I did notice that the cquartz had been appeared to be tighter beads whole rinsing before and after the wash. I'm going to keep an eye on it and see if I notice a difference.
I did apply some extra AK coating o had left over to the glass on thr sequoia to see as a comparison as to what will wear off first and to possibly see differences in water sheeting/beading. Happy with both, and honestly can't quite pick which one I prefer more. Both are fairly closely priced so that's not really a factor IMO.
Any other questions about a certain part just let me know

Powerlock + Collinite still working wonders. Applied March 3rd this year. One wash in July with Meguiar's M799 as a maintenance topper.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
As usual I picked a hot ass day to detail my truck but it’s the only weekend I had open and not raining.

I have Collinite and Jescar Powerlock Plus but I thought about trying the latest craze of Ceramic. So I went with the Adam’s Polishes Graphene Ceramic 1 year.

I used the Adams Strip Wash, Clay Barred, Adam’s Polish, Mothers CMX surface prep and than the Adam’s Graphene Ceramic spray.

I thought it turned out pretty good. At least for a silver truck.

A good thing about Adam’s is that it has the additive that lets you see if you missed an area with a black light. I was able to check on that last evening and I did miss a couple of areas! All good now!

Looks awesome. I specifically have yet to coat my truck because I like to test new stuff, but I'm honestly getting sick of washing it as it's so large and will probably end up coating it in the Fall. Solid outcome.

My daughter will rub gravel all over the panels and get the same ending affect as "that guy" for free.

That's always my favorite line by people that cold call me. "Well this guy said he can do it for XXXX amount." That's cool, go for it lol. Let me know when it's trashed and I'll come fix it for ya. By the way, the price will be XXXX amount higher when I have to fix a mistake on top of doing a proper job.

Exactly! I don't think I've seen one good result from "that guy's" work. Lol
