PCV replaced today at 108k. It was grimy but still functional.

Anyone had a latch break on the glove box? If so, then how did you fix it?

I mounted two 75lbs Hill and Wood magnets last March/April. I used some Gorilla 60# double side tape hoping they would stay. They did very well until last Friday when I parked such that the Western late afternoon sun shone directly on them with my windows up and this all metal gun mounted. Came back to the truck after 30 mins. and they had pulled off the surface. Dang. So today I mounted them with mechanical fasteners.

Also, several days back I fixed the sliding Weathertech mat on the passenger side. Driver side stays put. But the passenger side was always out of place. Search the web and found these Eagle Klaw mat retainers on ebay.

They look OEM and no more sliding mat

Spent most of the day yesterday under the truck, sanding rust off the frame and treating it with Opsho. It's 2/3 done now, only the center section to go.

I’ve never done that before (the sanding of the frame or using Opsho). Any good tutorial you’d recommend? My understanding is rust the primary longevity concern for these trucks.

No tutorial, the instructions on the Opsho container just say to remove as much of the rust as possible with brush, wheel, flap disc, etc. then apply a thin coat of it with a brush. Let dry for 24 hours and brush away any residue, then prime and paint. It says multiple coats of Opsho may be necessary in areas of heavy rust. Or, in lieu of paint, you could apply fluid film, POR 15, or some kind of thick oil or grease.

From what I remember from way back when researching, Ospho was a rust converter? Which kind are you using?

I've been meaning to do something like this for years but end up putting it off due to the seemingly large time commitment to wire wheel and brush on all the nooks and crannies.

Yes it’s a rust converter. The idea being, you can’t get all the rust in the nooks and crannies up under the truck, so you kill it by chemically changing it and then seal the frame.

I see you with the S mode over there. What year are you? I've had two cross country trips between GA>AZ, and I put only about 8-10k a year on the road. Luckily I use the Altima for most of the around town trips.

What, if any, mechanical issues have you had so far? I've been very lucky, but curious to see what others have experienced so far. Aside from the secondary air system and water pump, and maybe some other random small stuff, these motors seem flawless.

Installed the Demello Off Road hidden winch plate, Smittybilt X20 10k winch, and Baja Squadron lights. The added weight dropped the left side 1/2 inch a d the right side 1/4 inch. Bilstein 6112s and 5100s are next. 09BB48A6-D4F5-4A69-B39A-45354F715495.jpg

Finally got my BamMuffler system today but came across tailpipe welded onto the original muffler. What I’m wondering is if it’ll be safe to cut where that welding scar is or buy a new pipe instead? Looks rusty down there but it might also be dirt

Towed a rented travel trailer up over a mountain pass yesterday.

My brakes are smooth around town but shudder when they get hot from highway driving or towing. Ordered a set of powerstops. My wife has complained about the same thing on the sienna, so out comes the wallet.

I've never heard of shudders from rear brakes, so I'm not concerned about those. Should I be?

2007 SR5 Crewmax 4.7L it does have the s mode and it has 6 seats which has paid off a lot with kids. It’s on a 2.5 inch leveling kit and 33x12.50r18 gets like 12mpg in the mountains which sucks but we have 2 other better mpg vehicle so my Tundra since I’ve had it put on 20k miles in 4 years.

Maintenance I’ve done are all 4 o2 sensors(had cel), secondary air injection valve(had cel and limp mode), new OEM muffler (original developed holes that I noticed), water pump and timing belt, spark plugs and coil packs, new transfer case and both diff oils, front brakes and stainless brake lines. That’s pretty much it. Now if we are talking mods I counted the other day at about 35 mods

So after getting multiple opinions and quotes on the Bam Muffler system dilemma I found a shop that was able to weld an extender on the driver side catback. It seems like the previous owner had installed a FlowMaster and had modified the cat back and I had the FlowMaster tailpipe welded on to the Bam Muffler systems. I’ve gotta say it’s exactly as advertised stock sound until you hit that pedal. At low RMPS you get that nice low growl and I’m loving it. It sounds exactly like a Tundra should sound. Now with my compass bear sticker and new exhaust system I can say the bear has its growl now

The sienna has a tsb out for a front brake shudder. It's caused by a plastic baffle in the wheel well that prevents adequate airflow to cool the front disc. You just have to cut a section of plastic our of the way to solve the problem.
I did it in the driveway on my wife's sienna with a pocket knife. Took 15 minutes if that.
