81 layers of 1084 & 15n20 in a diagonal ladder pattern. Scales are quilted mahogany from Honduras that I have had for over 40 years. Added some gray g-10 liners for accents.

Fitting that the handle blank material you’ve been holding onto that long would get passed down in the family!

How are you liking the folding Adamas? Unsure what rock I was under but missed they added a folder (was only aware of the fixed Adamas). Considering this as my new edc. Is it too big/heavy to always have in the pocket. I want to say no but haven't held a folding one yet.

Ironically, I sent it back due some QC issues. Looks like it would take a beating, but a little too bulky for its size. Some like that. I’m not one of those. Bought a Guardian Tactical Recon OTF instead.

So, here’s the back story about this, most recent, knife.
My son was able to visit, and stay almost 2 weeks. It’s been almost 2 years since we’ve seen him. I asked him if he’d like to make his own Damascus knife and he was excited to try. I worked with him on every step just like with a great apprentice. He did most of the work. I handled the heat treating and etching. Most of the time I was building a knife at the same time and I had him shadow me as every step was reached. Great time spent with my 39 year old son! I took him to the airport this morning and he had his knife to take home with him.
I just want to make sure he gets the credit he is due! lol

It’s a perfect IWB carry knife. The handle shape doesn’t print much at all and is very easy to draw in a reverse grip at around the 1 o clock position. If for some reason I am ever somewhere that I am able to carry a knife but not a gun, or I’m feeling froggy and decide to carry both, this is the one lol

That is so awesome! I’m sure he will cherish that learning experience.
