I need a project car and property to work on it. Damn HOA won’t let me do anything. Still driving to the parents or a friends house to do most work.

Having money in cars has never hurt nobody. If you have good taste like first genners, consider it an investment.

i dunno, dont listen to any financial remarks i make. Im too cheap to care about market value. If things arent free, my limit seems to be less than $4k, cause i found a vmax i want for that and havent pulled the trigger.

who thinks there might be a market for mod-cation? Like winters in texas, come down, use my shop and tools, and live in a cabin? Or camp? But the nearest hotel is like 20 miles away, so not many people can hear you scream. I can get a lift, but its gotta pay for itself. Im fine with blocks and jackstands.

before i filled it with junk:

There’s certainly a market for it here. I can do oil changes on the street but if I spill a drop of oil, my nosey neighbors are ready to call the popo and a hazmat team.

Maybe not so much mod-cation, more like project summer camp. During the winter, cause i have more freetime, and i’ll be a hardass about cleanliness, and lots of ‘what if’ troubleshooting. But im a total pushover on the latter. You do you, but this is texas and ill make fun of your ‘stance’.

Wouldn't it be cool to show up at a shop in texas hill cuntry to spend a weekend with a lift to install some parts with several testgrounds within 100 miles. Katempcy rocks, hidden falls, gsl, and more.

My cap is squeaking and the beds creaking. I’m just going to let the body man pull the bed and fix the bed. (I saved the laterals from the old bed, because this was a 200 dollar bed) I think the improper clamps for the cap are to blame for the squeak on the cap. Ordered proper clamps today

Put some pipes to brace the cap, and bolt everything in, slightly in tension. Fix the wiggle, not where the wiggle makes noise.

but probably fix the wiggle, then fix where the wiggle makes noise, but your cap is braced. So, profits!

In the future I’ll be building an internal cage. But for now, all I need is it clamped with proper clamps. Thanks to google I figured out what style I needed. They’re on order, I drill holes to install them in the fibreglass and it shouldn’t move

Felt and glue. Someone look into different glues and figure out if what will hold through temp swings. Not to mention the expanded metal cage for protection from the thought police.
And metallic tint and blinds to reflect the waves.

Front tires are all cupped up on the insides. Needs some front end work. Nice looking truck. Price is alright I guess. Depends on how well maintained I guess. But clean frame is a great start for a first gen.

Got an old friend who owns a shop not far from me scheduled to install the ATS H-D leaf springs and rear shocks for me on Mon for $180. I can live with that. I'll be glad when the rear of the truck isn't sagging like an old womans breasts.

Very well. I am very satisfied with State 48 Overland's skill in handling everything and how the alignment turned out. I really like the SPC's. Feels and rides like an entirely different truck now which is why I'm anxious to get the rear done. Planning on making a trip later and hauling one of my Harley's in it, so it'll be a good test of the truck.

That’s good to hear, I’ve also heard they do gears and are good at it too, lots of cats on the FB group really like their work.
If you ever get a day off and want to wheel down south, let me know. Lots of cool stuff to see!

I bought some dodge style flip out mirrors for a Tacoma. Had to drill a new hole in the door and the mirror mostly fit my door but not fully

Good call, I thought I saw the tail end of "WRANGLER" at the top of the front.

They look pretty meaty. Will need to go over-dig on these. Not planning a wheel upgrade this year, but I've been going back and forth about tires for a while.

I know. I tried uploading them from inside the building and the files were way too big. After 10 minutes, the first pic still hadn't fully uploaded so I aborted the mission. Last night was anniversary dinner, so I didn't get to it after I got home.

Sheeeeet, I'd sell my truck with ~185k in that ballpark if someone is dying to get one.

3M windshield adhesive. Bonds very well, stays flexible, seals out water and detritus, available at most FLAPSs.

I had no idea you had a Harley. Wheird.
