Yup, little over a month to muzzleloader season. Felt good to get out there today. Wish we could put a scope on these. Open sites is harder than I remember. Haven't shot open sites since highschool.

You gotta tell me about that truck box. I want something smaller that fits under the rail

It's a zdog tool box. I don't think they make this model anymore. Definitely sits below the rails. Has corner notches for wheel wells. Made for the crewmax. 20190507_121528.jpg

It’s amazing how much smoke comes from just a thimble of black powder!

My dad taught us how to make black powder from scratch when we were kids. My brother and I made it by the bucket full. I remember some fun times. Once we set charges on the shoring supports of a tunnel we built in the bank of a nearby River. We used a battery and some “flash” wire for ignition. It looked like a little Hiroshima, when we fired it off!

    Good stuff!
We poured trails of BP to small pools of gasoline, that was fun!

We poured gasoline on the edges of "bunkers" we dug for paintball and lit on fire for a few rounds. It probably wasn't the smartest idea, but it was a blast.

My crazy friends! How about trying to shoot marbles out of a piece of 3/4” pipe, lol! Drilled a little hole for fuse. Sure am glad we weren’t trying to site it, the pipe went backwards about half as far as the marble went forward!

Man we put a deposit down on a camp trailer in September of 2020 and it still hasn’t arrived. The dealer still doesn’t know when it will get here. I wish you better luck.

That's crazy, unless it's a real specific build that's unacceptable. We sold our 2018 trailer last month and have had 4 refundable deposits on incoming trailers at different dealers. All 4 trailers have showed up recently and we decided on one. Pick it up Thursday.
What dealer if you don't mind?

M80’s in big ant hills, homemade napalm placed over ground wasp nest openings, bottle rocket fights, bb gun fights (we didn’t have paintball)… we used to do some crazy shit too. Built a bazooka replica once and fired a firework mortar from it… that singed some hair of my face… made a homemade gunpowder payload in a model rocket that led to a pretty spectacular fireball.

and that was all before High school…

This is through all seasons RV in Wenatchee,WA. We have talked to them a few times and they are ok giving us a refund for the deposit and we can go elsewhere. And no it’s nothing special, it’s a Salem 178bhsk. https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/travel-trailers/salem-fsx/178BHSK/4579
We thought about looking for a newer used trailer but the prices were pretty insane. This trailer would cost us right at $20,000 out the door. I think we are just in that perfectly small size that everyone is looking for. It’s a bunkhouse, shorter at 22ft and light at 3,800 uvw so every family with a mini van could tow it. They have the next model up which is the 243BHXL that has been sitting there for like 3 months now. But it’s $7,500 more.

Gotcha, maybe they don't get the allocations that a bigger dealer would get in Tri-Cities or Spokane.
We're downsizing from a 6k lb. 28' bunkhouse to a trailer with very similar specs as yours. Open Range 180bhs

If it’s been sitting there for 3 months, they might be willing to move on that price a bit. They’ve had your deposit in the bank for almost a year…

Anyone here have experience with having carpet replaced in your house? Wife and I are starting to look at carpet for the second floor (4 bedrooms, hall, and stairs).

Never had this done in the prior house so not sure what to expect. Should I expect to empty all furniture or couple rooms at a time?

Also, small shop or big box? Looks like they all sub out the install.

We tore all our carpet out a few years ago and put in laminate floors. We’ve got a few throw rugs in different rooms, but no more carpet.

    While we're on trailer talk;
Does anyone have experience in sway control without WD on a travel trailer? I've got airbags and would like to keep away from the WD bars with the light tongue weight I've got now. This is all I'm coming up with but it looks like backing up is not recommend with this setup.

That's a nice looking trailer...but I have to say, if you can find a similar size trailer (or slightly larger) that has a full size bed for the adults facing the back (so both people can exit without climbing over the other) then I highly recommend going for that model. We just spent 12 days in our trailer and it got really old climbing over my wife every night to hit the head. Our friends that traveled with us have a similar layout and they're already looking at a different model.

Call Costco...they won't be the cheapest, but you'll get the best quality for the price. We've used them twice and gotten bids from other vendors before each install. The bids were either more expensive, or the carpet and mat quality was subpar.

That's what I use and it works pretty good. When I had my F150, I just had airbags and no WDH. You are correct, you cannot backup with it installed. It takes 10 seconds to remove, so not a big deal.

Yep the dream model would be a dual axel, north south facing bed, double bunk, U dinette model. Which is out there. The only thing we are worried about is warranty work because the only “dealer” we have in Wenatchee is Salem/geo pro. Every other dealer would be 2-3 hours away in the Spokane/Seattle/tri cities areas.

Yep we have asked them and as of the last time they would only budge from $24,900 to $23,000. I should reiterate that is $24,900 sticker and the model we have money down on is $17,500 sticker.

Fireworks were definitely a great time. Surprised we still have all our digits. Bottle rocket wars and Roman candle wars. We did have bb gun fights...but only for a few years and then paintball came out. Living in a small town, the whole town was our battle field. Everyone knew everyone, I few places were off limits but not many.

We also had a water balloon slingshot that we rigged up in the back of my buddy’s pickup. Two pieces of tube steel in the back stake pockets and then attached it to those. We’d send water balloons about 100 yd with it.

Don’t ever hit another car with a water balloon going down the road though. The windshield imploded… :anonymous:
It was another friend’s POS old beater, so no one was hurt and he already needed a new windshield from rock chips, but it was something we weren’t expecting.

I've done it three times, and room by room is fine. As far as who to do the work, while they all may sub it out you will probably get better service/support from a smaller business. And typically the prices are pretty comparable.
