I have a (near perfect) 2018 limited with 68k I’m selling for 44k. That’s way less than all the dealers around me are asking…

I had a'19 TRD Pro with 36k on it that had an accident when I was run off the road and side swiped a telephone to the tune of about 9k worth of damage. This happened a couple months after I bought it. It looked fine after being repaired. Having the damage was stuck in my mind ever since. The Pro is a wonderful off-road machine though me personally I found I don't use anywhere near the off road capabilities of it. I also missed the extra bed length, used the sun roof maybe 5 times in three years, hated the sound system and begrudge Toyota for leaving out so many of the "creature comforts and safety adjuncts" off of them.

I went in a little over a month ago to the dealer picking up stuff for another vehicle and for giggles asked what they would give me for a trade in towards a '21 limited DC TRD Off road Army green that was coming in still not spoken for. They offered me 50k (I paid 51250 for it from them) and MSRP on the limited (48300). If it had not been for being able to effectively swap the two I would have kept it. They have the truck listed for 55,770 currently. After all the fees, minimal sales taxes, additional accoutrements added back to the new one, warranty upgrades, I financed 5500 more on my remaining note balance for an additional 6 months of payments for a total of 3 years at 20.00 more a month than what I was paying previously. I never would have thunk it would have been possible, but at least something positive came out of COVID.

I would go with prioritizing for the house if absolutely necessary, but it's hard pressed to know how long this market will last as it is.

Dealer offered me $45k for my 2018 Platinum w/ 55k miles with wheels / tires / Falcon shocks / full stereo / tunneau cover / tint / bed liner / exhaust / etc. That is $5k more than I bought it for over two years ago.

Was very tempting since I really liked the Ram Rebel I was looking at. But they would only budge $500 off MSRP on the Rebel, so wasn’t worth it.

@970KOM…I was given $51,590 for my ‘19 Platinum with less than 3k miles. MSRP was $52,000+ when new. I paid $46,000 plus tax/fees due to it being a left over ‘19 I bought in early 2020. That was right before Covid hit it’s stride. With dealer and factory incentives I got almost $7k off! After their trade offer I bought their only Tundra on the lot, new or used….a 2021 Platinum that had $4k+ more options on it than my ‘19. So essentially I traded up 2 years on a $4k more expensive Tundra for a little over $5700 difference. If you look at the MSRP difference between the 2 trucks I actually traded up 2 years for around $2300….a no brainer imo. Before you sell yours for way less than dealers are asking I would take it to your local dealers, a CarMax or do the KBB Instant Cash Offer and see what you would get on an outright buy from them. It may be more than you are asking.

Sell the truck and buy the house. Get a little piece of crap car until the market cools down. When the market cools down, it will get ice cold and you will have many options to choose from.

I (over)paid basically 20k a year ago for my 2011. It's probably worth about what I paid. If someone came along and offered 25+ it would likely be theirs.

Housing market (if anything like it is here) isn’t exactly a great time to buy either. Houses that were selling for 300k 2 years ago are now selling for 400k.

    I wouldn't take a penny less than $60K for my 1st Gen.

Do you have your stock parts? I sold my tundra stock and parted out the aftermarket goodies. I did much better that way because nobody local wanted to pay a premium for the mods.

I paid under MSRP, Carvana offered more than OTD price for my 2019 Platinum.
Marinated on the idea and did some looking into other trucks, remembered why I went Tundra in the first place and ditched the thought.

Freedom Bucks are top of the hierarchy. Then gold, ammuntion, firearms, fishing gear, and boats. Canuckistani Pesos would be acceptable but aren't preferred.
