I don't know about increase in value, but for years after the current gen Tacoma came out, I'd see people recommending those in the market for a new one look for a low miles 2015. There was definitely a large number of people out there who wanted the second gen and wanted nothing to do with the third gen.

Will that happen with Tundras? I don't know. But I feel confident there will be plenty of people who will want the 5.7 when it goes away.

I want the 5.7 but I’m not betting on the rise in value part

No, I wouldn't count on that either, unless there continues to be shortages and/or significant inflation.

Yes I had a 2nd Gen I bought brand new. I traded in on my 17 4runner Pro. I got almost what I paid for it. I even have salesman say Toyota should have kept that motor and trans in the Tacoma. I had more that one of the 2nd Gen. great trucks. I wanted the last year tundra Pro with the V8. There are plenty of guys and women that still want that V8. They will hold there value.

To my surprise, the truck arrived ahead of schedule and I picked it up last night! Hang in there everyone, it's worth the wait!

Personally I believe the Tundra values of this current generation will remain strong for many years to come. Just like we have been seeing over the last few months. The new V6 turbo is fixing a problem that didn't exist IMO. No doubt they will sell, but not because of practicality purposes, it'll be for the I got one and you don't crowd along with the Raptor wannabe's. The TRD Pro's are truly a great from the factory off-roaders delight. I traded my '19 Pro in for a '21 limited DC TRD Off-road because for me the Pro was all show cause and I won't go into what it was built for. Dealers are selling them new and used for 5k to 10k more than they sold for several years ago and that much over on new vehicles. I was happy to get mine for actual MSRP.

2.5 inch lift, TRD front and rear sway bars, 33 inch Open Country AT3 305/55R20 and dual TRD exhaust.
When I bought my truck we got it for MSRP, but then we also added a 2.5 inch lift, sway bars, TRD exhaust, step bars, 305/55R20 open country AT III and rims and a custom steering wheel. All in we did alright and paid $60k Canadian. That's $48k USD.

We didn't order the truck, so I didn't have any wait time. I thought about waiting for 2022 but I suspect the purchase price is going to be much higher for a truck that won't have anywhere near the reliability or longevity.

I traded my 19 for a 21 in May :monocle:.

Paid $500 under msrp for the 21 which I wasn’t happy about but got $2k more for my 19 than I paid for it new with 26k miles on it. There was a bunch of little things about the 19 I didn’t love and was happy to get rid of it. I love the 21 and had an 04 I bought new that I traded for the 19. I’m hoping to keep the 21 for as long as I had the 04. Did I lose money trading for the 21, probably. Am I happier with the 21, definitely.

Never thought I'd see the day where Tundras were in high demand. When I got my 2020, high volume dealerships couldn't give em away even with 0.9% financing.

Wanted a 21 since the 5.7 is going away. My 07 has a broken crossmember at the back of the fuel tank, so it was time. Traded a 19 Crosstrek for 2k less than I bought it for new and got my 21 SR for a few hundred under sticker. Dealer has a pile of 21 Tundras, like 60. If you're near downstate NY and looking, let me know. They bought and titled the trucks, telling Toyota they were for rental fleet last winter. Couldn't sell them for 6 months. 2 miles on truck, fuzzies still on the tires. Certified Used warranty. I'm pretty happy with that.

Just signed for a 21 crew 4x4 limited premium, 25 day delivery date. This after a Jacksonville dealer had my truck 2 days from delivery and then boom, no truck? Told me Toyota wouldn’t ship it to them…

I've been told today that the Magnetic Grey I have a deposit on is built, but its "missing a piece" and they wouldn't tell the dealership what that piece was, but that they are certain they will still get the truck in.
They also gave me an option to switch to a Lunar Rock that is being built 9/12...I'm torn.

It was, mostly. I was run off the road and side swiped a telephone pole a month after I got it to the tune of about 9k of repaired damage. They did a good job but that has been stuck in my head ever since and the opportunity to start anew was hard to pass up. They gave me 1250.00 less than I paid for it (50K) and sold me the Limited DC for MSRP which was 48,300. Along with honestly missing the the extra bed length and all the safety and creature comforts the Pro's do not come with. There was no right or wrong way to go and at times I do miss the statement the Pro's make just being how they are. I am just getting more practical and utilitarian as I get older.
