Two nights ago when I got in my truck to five home from work, there was a new yellow alarm sensor that lit up and then went away 5 seconds later. It said maintenance required. The fact that it went away seemed funny. Does this need checked out? Or can I run with it on for a while? Truck seems to be running fine.

What year truck? Access cab? Double Cab? V6? V8? 2WD? 4WD?

I think our 2008 sequioa's "maintenance required" light will flash, and then go away when the truck thinks its approaching oil change time. Once it reaches the interval set in the computer the light will come on and stay on until you do the reset sequence.

That means you are getting close to an oil change. It will be fully lit at 5k miles sounds like you are around 4.5k since your last reset

I wondered, but that can't be it. I drove 4k miles total last year. Only been 2k miles since my last service. I had the timing belt and water pump done and they changed the oil then. Right around the new year. I wrestle with how often to change oil since I drive so little during the year.

But did you reset (aka let the computer know) by using the Odometer push pin after the last oil change?

Here is how to reset it. It will come back on in another 4.5k

General question about this "maintenance" light. I have a 2018 CM.
Will this maintenance light come on "only" for oil change, or it will come on for another reason? I believe it comes on every 5k miles but not sure. need to get my manual and find it.

I had no idea the newer first gens had this feature. My 02 is low tech and doesn't remind me about oil changes.
