Has anyone placed a light bar in that area? I’m thinking of maybe cutting the divisions to make a whole rectangle I’ll have to double check nothing will fall apart first

Remote starter from 12volt.solutions! The first part of the install (start/stop by pressing lock 3 times) took about 30 minutes and the instructions were perfect (which is very rare nowadays).

    3FC8055D-364A-4C5B-AC39-DA2D50D309EF.jpg

The second part - the cellular connection and smartphone/watch app took another 30 minutes or so.

I really wanted a passive push-to-start system but I never found good instructions for it and I was concerned I'd screw it up and lock myself out lol.

Also I got my Alpharex headlights installed and working properly finally. This is my SECOND headlight upgrade because "buy cheap but twice." Here's a side by side of the light output.

    E37EBAFD-DEB5-4E52-80AB-5C24C774C468.jpg

Here's the actual headlight, which has a cool startup animation and progressive turn signals (the DRL blinks amber). Also I can actually see at night which I literally couldn't do with my POS $230 headlights. Thanks to the forum for helping me choose and install the Alpharex! Y'all have been great.

Had a rear pad burn up quicker on one side then the other. (Inside - driver side - rear rotor) not sure what the culprit was everything else looked fine on tear down.

    47DF4306-7B10-4592-A974-C7B97F069A23.jpg

Could not find OEM rear rotors anywhere in SoCal so went with Napa rotors and akebono pads from Napa.

Also spark plugs arrived from eBay the other day. $30 for 8 Denso SK20HR11. I couldn’t really find a whole lot wrong with them they were fairly consistent with what came out of the truck. Except the engraved writing on the side said “DENSO JAPAN” and the original OEM that came out of the truck said “Assembled in USA with Japanese and US Parts”. End of the day I went back to Napa and paid up for what are the true perfect match. $10 each but the piece of mind is priceless.

Left OEM from the factory with 107k
    Center DENSO from Napa
Right eBay very good replica of OEM?

Happy I didn’t need to find out the hard way. The truck seems to run a tiny bit smother and at lower RPM at startup. Time will tell if swapping all the fluids and plugs will grab a few more MPGs lol

I’ve been told the usual culprit for uneven pad wear is caliper failure probably sticking most likely a good place to start checking

Figure of speech. I wired and mounted it so it looks clean. Out of the way and no visible harness.

I’ll have to look it up. In this same thread I posted where I got them and the size to order. Been a lot of water under my bridge since then. I think it’s around page 300..

Haven't been around much recently, life has been busy! I have a pile of goodies sitting around that need to get thrown on from the 4th of July sales (diode dynamic lights, running boards, etc.), I will post some pictures up once I get around to it. You know it's busy when fresh parts are laying around

Meanwhile, the Slurp hauled myself and some friends to Road America...twice. The truck was loaded with gear and performed great both weekends!

I had the opportunity to test out the Morimoto headlights for the first time since installing them. They work great, low beams are crisp and the high beams could be mistaken for a lightbar. Admittedly, I wasn't even driving. It was my bachelor party and was in no condition to be driving. But they looked great from the passenger seat! When we left one of the bars in Elkhart Lake, we found that one of the nearby apartments caught fire and I was boxed in by several fire trucks.

Lastly, I found a new Bronco parked next to an old Bronco, kind of a fun picture opportunity. Since we all like similar vehicles around here, I figured I'd share.

Tried to start my truck leaving work today, no dice.
Got a jump and headed to the dealership for a new battery with a life time warranty. I know people shit on Toyota batteries, but I'm about to leave for 12 months to South Korea and sometimes have to leave my truck for 6+ months. It's a piece of mind knowing I won't have to buy another battery as long as I own the truck.

I'm just going to ask the wife to drive it every couple of weeks for a day. If that doesn't work I'll just get a new battery when I get home.

@Shanet421 I got burned with ebay denso's on the wife's Highlander. Thought way too good of a deal. Went about 20k before starting throwing misfire codes. All the electrodes were worn down to almost nothing.

There's a few articles about counterfeit spark plugs. They are one of the few things I'll buy locally now. Don't trust online retailers for the cost savings.

Yup, after hearing all the horror stories, I ordered mine from advance auto parts with 30% off so it came out to $7 out plug.

Ran some of this right off the battery (w/ 15A fuse) up into the rear of the cap. I really liked the thick jacket on the wire for running the length of the truck. It reminds me of pulling romex. I used almost every inch of 25 feet to get to back corner and up into the bed.

    https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...ed-14-awg-two-conductor-power-wire-/775/1716/

I disconnected the cap's original dome light from my parking light circuit and tapped into my new constant power with a 2amp fuse. ( the led dome light leads are tiny, I think they would burn before the 15A fuse popped.) Then I added one of these:

    https://www.grainger.com/product/3V...l&gucid=EMT:10101010:SKU:CSM-348&emcid=NA:SKU

I clipped off the provided 15A fuse as it was redundant and used the hook side of adhesive velcro strips to attach it to the shell carpet on the ledge.

For those that are interested, 5/16 terminal rings fit our battery lugs perfectly.

Now I'm set with light and a means to inflate my air mattress for a quick overnighter

Sadly, took it off the road. Rear fuel tank crossmember is done, and other areas on the frame are well on the way. Got the tank back up with a ratchet strap, will use it to push snow for a year or two...
