I know most people won't have these answers. Is the 2018 facelift a big deal? I was looking to buy a 4x4 CM sr5 tundra. My budget is like 35-38k. The articles I read it look like it might just be a face lift for TRD pro models? Is that correct.
I just don't want to to buy one now and ne https://1921681001.id/ xt year there is a huge revamped tundra. https://19216811.cam/

I went from 2016 CM TRD to a 2018 CM TRD, big change was TSS (Toyota Safety Sense) and better head lights, along with honey comb grill. I had vision issues and needed the better lights. Other than that, no other major difference.

Having had a 2018 SR5 CM 4x4, it is just the TSS system with adaptive cruise which includes digital speedo, and honeycomb grill.

The 2018 Tundra did not have any structural or functional (albeit the TSS) changes over the 2017 Tundra.

I believe 2018+ mo longer has the transmission cooler. There’s a bunch of threads on here about having to install one.

2018 got the better headlights, grill, TSS, and more modern gauge cluster. 2018 still has the old true factory trans cooler as well (removed for 2020 I believe).

2020 got push button start, proximity entry, and CarPlay / Android Auto infotainment.

If you want to keep the truck for a long time / want the V8 instead of the new TTV6, the couple creature comfort improvements on the 2020 are really nice. Can always add the true trans cooler if you want (Toyota engineers didn’t deem it necessary, and I trust them).

I really appreciate the proximity entry and push button start on my 2020 Pro 4Runner compared to when starting my 2018 Platinum Tundra. It’s little things like that, which you use EVERY SINGLE TIME you use the truck, that it makes a difference.

If you want a modern’ish truck, better ride, want more power / mpg, more creature comforts, more drive modes, more off-road capability, etc… then waiting for the new totally redesigned 2022 Tundra is 100% the better move.

I believe it was 2019 as my 2018 had one.
I wouldn't call the headlights better, but they got the LED DRL underbrow. I updated mine to the 2019 TRD LEDs
