For two years now I've had to listen to my brake pedal squeak each time I let off it. Sometimes it does it when I push it too. I've lubed every moving part I can see multiple times and it hasn't helped.

There is a brake pedal return spring I can buy for $4. I'm thinking about trying it. Does anyone have any idea what other parts connected to the pedal could generate a noise? I'm a little skeptical it's the metal spring but I don't know what else it could be.

For 4 bucks it can't hurt. And if it mainly does it letting off I'd see if the spring is maybe twisting in there somehow. Might be something is outta whack.

Im gonna say master cylinder, because thats what mine was. But the sound was more of a ‘honk’ than a ‘squeak’. And when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

grease the linkage and bushing, first, for good measure.

You could hear your master inside your truck? How? Do you mean the little rod that goes to the booster? Mine is an audible noise from under my dash and my master cylinder is new. The noise has been going on before and after the master swap.

Yea, from inside, under the dash. Every now and then it would bark at me if i was too quick on the pedal, usually the first application of the day. It had doing it for over a year, and grandpa was convinced it was the pedal bushing, but i couldnt get it to squeak because he’d have already driven it. The piston in the mc was getting hung up, it would release overnight, and the first pedal push would push it through the ?rough? bit and it would sound like a goose. Although i couldnt see any rough stuff inside the mc when i took it apart.
