Stanley Hotel was a back drop in the fictional Hollywood movie... everything else was done in LA sound stages...

Check out the Stanley Hotel. Not cheap. In Estes Park. Gateway to RMNP. They have special rates on Halloween. Bring your EMF Detector and for god's sake....don't pass out Musketeer candy bars to the ghosts. They prefer vegan granola bars. Times have changed....

Yep, I remember passing it when we went to Estes Park a few years ago.

I have a coworker who hits up a weekend at the hotel with his wife every year. Great food and a lot of history. The Stanley gold mine is just north of Idaho Springs. The old gold stamp mill is still there where they processed gold ore. Mine owners did quite well. The hard rock miners made peanuts and either died in the mines or retired locally and passed at 40 years old.....fun times back then

FYI...a female survivor of the Titanic fiasco is buried in the Idaho Springs cemetery.....you pass it by on the way up to the highest "paved" road in NA. Mt Evans....12, 264 ft.

Just looked up Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. We stayed a day/night in Glenwood two years ago on the way to Colorado Springs.
We checked out the shops there at the Lodge, then spent the rest of the day taking the gondola up to the adventure park and ended the evening at the Iron Mountain hot springs. Cool little town!

The pic I posted is a fictional Hotel Colorado hotel key fob. Yes there is a Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. Nice place actually on your way to Grand Junction which is a very nice place to visit in CO. Gateway to Moab.
