Okay, that title was a little dramatic, but now that I got your attention....

I noticed that my hood bulge has been popping off every time I drive. I'll snap it back on all secure, and as soon as I drive, it pops off again. I assume the plastic snap in things are the reason, right? I just thought it was so weird that this started happening all of sudden.

My truck is stock, so I haven't taken apart the hood bulge at all, so I don't know why the clips are failing. Has this happened to anyone? Is there another reason why this is popping off that I don't know about? What do I need to do to fix this?

Mine did that once on my old 17 as well. But it stayed in place when I pushed it back together. My guess is a broken tab. It's all plastic so they wear out.

Is that a chrome one? I'll give ya a new one if you're close or pay shipping.

Can I get a photo/link of the part that I need?

Like do I need that black plastic clip replaced on the bulge? Or do I need to replace the part that receives the clip on the hood side? Or both?

Not sure the part number for the chrome one. I stuck the chrome one in the box I got with the mgm color matched one. 76180-0c030-b1 is what is on the box for color matched.

There was a problem with the clips for that time frame. There are upgraded clips that fixed the issue. This is what you need. I don't remember how many you need though.

Yup, happened to my Super White hood bulge. The chrome one didn’t have an issue.

Now after installing my light bar into the hood bulge, the 2 clips don’t clip onto the hood anymore.

Mine did the exact same thing. Broken tab. Replaced with new and no more problems.
