    There are plastic rivits on the bottom that you have to snip off. If you do it carefully, you will leave enough material to re-melt them when you put it back in.

    @justcuz if you are just wanting to remove the chrome shift gate, its pretty easy. I had more issues getting the silver trim piece free. I just used some hot glue to hold the chrome shifter back in place. Its been a couple months always outside in Texas heat and I've had no issues.
