New to me 2008 5.7, don't know if plugs have been changed. Sample take out is clean but it has a short tip/wide gap. I'm not familiar with iridium plugs. Is there a picture of the tip of a new one, or a gap spec?

Thanks for that. I had already reinstalled this one before I lookedtundrasparkplug.jpg at poor shot of tip. Also, notice gummy threads. Plug didn't spin out easily after breaking loose, had a drag on it all the way.

WELL, I pulled the plug again. I could only get .040" of stacked feeler gauges in the gap. Trk has 185,000 on it. Would an iridium plug with that many miles show more wear and gap than this one? I'm used to flathead Fords with .025" gap. Maybe the goop on the threads is anti seize put on at install? Thanks for all the help.

iridium last a long time, it don't show much wear. if you don't know the history you just have to change it.

spark plugs are cheap, just change them to iridium and you will be good to go for 50k miles.
