I have a 2021 toyota tundra SR5 is there a way to get maps/navigation on the screen without having my phone plugged? When I push the map button it say something about toyota app

Can't help you with the specifics because I don't know, but mine does the same thing. I think you need to buy an additional service or something for that?

I can plug my phone in and use Android Auto to navigate if I want. But I do find it kind of silly they don't just offer a built-in GPS with map that doesn't require a phone or internet connection.

You have to plug your phone into it and use AA or Carplay.
