My seats were black with dirt and from the the Yukon forum I was on, some of the detailers used to use Scrubbing Bubbles. I was Always hesitant, but after trying a few different types, I decided to try it. The pictures don’t really do it justice, by they came out pretty good. After I finished cleaning, I wiped them down with a leather conditioner.

You might want to use some conditioner on them, if you haven't already, I'd be concerned the soap would remove any oils from the leather.

Get a hammock for the pups!

They loop around the headrests, contains any mess (including large amounts of sand from the lake), and most importantly they protect your dogs from ending up under the front seats in the event of an emergency stop.

I have two hammocks from Kurgo and they have more than paid for themselves. My dog got very sick a couple years ago and the hammock saved the jeep from large amounts of liquid shit and vomit.

Was really glad there were large snow drifts to help with hammock cleaning efforts.

Those are pretty cool, but both of mine can never decide if they want to be on the front or back

And I had a suv with leather I used Lexol cleaner and separate conditioner. PH balanced and was basically considered leather food. My leather still looked brand new after 10 years and 85,000 miles. I wish it smelled a little better, but that would probably mean an additive (perfume) that may not be good for the leather. There may be better stuff out there but this stuff was recommended to me by a Mercedes mechanic friend of mine who said that’s what they used. Worked well for me. I wouldn’t say it smelled bad, more like an unscented lotion.

I recommend doing what the manual says to do for cleaning the leather......because sometimes we don't know "what kind" of leather it actually is. If its real leather most legit leather cleaners will be fine. But leather in limited, platinums isn't pure leather and a water wipe down or mild cleaner like woollite diluted is best.

Also...for interior cleaning of vinyl and leather surfaces, pick yourself up one of these handy little tools. You will be amazed at what it can do.

I bought the truck used and the seats ( red leather ) were black with embedded filth. I tried Lexol, Griots, etc and they got about 50% off. The before pic i took was after using them. I know Scrubbing Bubbles is not ideal, but it did get the seats to almost looking new again. I just sprayed the seats down and scrubbed with a fingernail brush and immediately wiped them clean with a damp cloth. I did use Lexol conditioner ( 2 coats ) to protect them. As far as the engine bay goes, I use Greased Lightning and a hose, no pressure washer needed. I like the Greased Lightning since it doesn’t discolor the aluminum. I also just tried Mcguiars wheel cleaner on my kids cars and was absolutely amazed on how it took off the baked-on brake dust without any hand scrubbing at all. Just ordered some Aquapel for the windshields, I’ve been using it for years. I can usually get about 3 weeks out of a Rain-ex treatment where this stuff lasts a whole year, even with the vehicles parked outside.
