Wifes 2005 Tundra 4.7L with 266K miles. Had a HUGE coolant leak and rotten radiator. Ended up being a shot waterpump, leaking cam oil seals, timing belt, O-Rings etc..

I replaced everything and the process went well. Sounds like a diesel now. I guess I didn't "lock" the "scissor gears" on the exhaust cams when I pulled the intakes for the cam seals. derp

Is it possible to pull the exhaust cams out without pulling the belt again? Or does the front covers on the cam shroud the gear on the exhaust?

All I wanna do it pull the exhaust cams and re-clock and lock the gears.

Am I looking at a complete teardown again?

Also, can I carefully compress the timing belt tensioner and reuse it? I still have the pin.

    Ugh.

I would just do the job all over again, the tensioner is reusable. Just extremely slowly compress it with a C-clamp until you are able to insert the pin
