Have issues with drivers side headlight bulb electrical connector..and long story short... Middle prong plastic housing of original electrical connector to bulb melted. So ...
I soldered spliced an aftermarket bulb connector (higher temp rated) from Riley's auto, with a pigtail wire harness (red, black, blue) to existing harness, thinking I matched theToyota wire colors correctly. Verified by looking at passengers side wiring color configuration.

Lights turn on but are dim on driver's side and no high beams come on driver's side. Passenger side works properly. Noticed there is a extreamly short delay on driver's side bulb when turning on headlights. Noticed a relay sound while turning on headlights coming from engine fuse box area.

    Any suggestions?

That's your head light relay !
I would double check the connections. The below is from the 2000 EWD and as you look into the plug, pin 2 is on left. According to if you have DRL or not determines what colors you have.

    w/ DRL
    pin 1 Green/White
    pin 2 Red/Blue
    pin 3 White/Green

    w/0 DRL
    pin 1 Red/Green
    pin 2 Red/Yellow
    pin 3 Red/Blue

Sound like you still have a parasitic draw. I replaced both connectors on my headlights when they melted and created a resistive short.

    Jack,
What color(s) did you connect your after market wire harness (Red, Black,Yellow) to original Toyota harness (Red/Green, Red/Yellow, Red/Blue)

Do you have a photo of the splice area?

Not sure if you've solved this yet but I have seen a blown fuse for one headlight still let the headlight illuminate but very dim like you are describing. I believe each headlight has it's own fuse on these trucks.

    Nick,
    Going to re-wire soon.
That's odd, will check the fuse to make sure... Thanks.
