Hi all, When driving a 2010 Tundra, I can feel a little wobble or vibration, which is typically worse at lower speeds, say, less than 50 mph. When driving in a straight line, it sounds like it's a wheel is a little out of balance, so I need to get them balanced and rotated anyway.

    It's a 4x4 with 150k.

If that doesn't work, I've done a little searching but I wanted a little help in what to search for as there seem to be a couple of different issue it could be.

What would you recommend I search for?

    Thanks for the help.

AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
    Mjninc,

Other than the alignment have them check the tow of the vehicle. I had a similar feel in the wheel at low speeds and my tow was out of spec.

Thanks Buildn, what does 'tow of the vehicle mean'? Is that the same thing as an alignment?

    Mjinc,

sorry misspelled it’s toe (not tow)

Nope it can be fixed on the alignment machine.
best way is if you lift your truck off the ground it’s the inward and outward setting of the tires

Could this also be a hub or intermediate shaft?

What's the best way to diagnose this issue?

Get your tires rotated and balanced, then get an alignment. Rule out the obvious first.

Also, if you have big wheels, make sure they do a dynamic balance on your wheels. Seems to be a epidemic of incompetent tire techs going around thinking static balance (cheap/fast, meant for smaller wheels) is the thing.

I can hear/feel a little bit when going straight. I think it's the worst going 45-55 while on a left curve.

Maybe suspension, wheel bearing, ball joints, or tie rod, check the passenger side, cause when turn left right side is on load

I had this same issue when one of my tires was worn unevenly. It felt fine driving straight and vibrated when going on a curve

Put your rear axle on jack stands so the wheels are off the ground and chock the front wheels so the truck can't roll forward. Start the truck and hold the VSC button down to disable traction control. Put the truck in drive so the rear wheels spin freely. Do you hear any noise? Very, very carefully rub a sacrificial object against the left rear tire to stop it from spinning (a rubber mallet is good for this) and the rear right wheel will spin faster. Does the noise increase?

I had the exact symptoms you had and it was a bad rear wheel bearing.

I'll have to give this a try. Will a 3 ton jack be enough for these trucks? Also, are typical jack stands high enough?

You want the jack stands that have a bit of a U shape to them at the top so they can cradle the axle. Three ton jacks are fine.
