Has anyone ever wanted this configuration...
...enough to consider actually making it happen?

    Here's my amateur photoshop:

I think it would be pretty sweet, probably the best configuration for me. I'd love to stretch the frame to make it happen, but not sure it would really be worth the time and money, especially since I'd also sacrifice payload and towing capacity (which I'll need).

    What do you guys think?

Ive been noodling the idea. But as long as i have the titan, the tundras bed length is fine. And it would be a helluva lotta work for a little more room. My best excuse is that my dad had a long bed extended cab ‘89 f150 when i was growing up, and club xlt was more perfecter for for toting 4 kids to the beach or dirtbike track, and im trying my best not to have to tote no kids nowhere.

@Sirfive it would be a lot of work. For me, I'm a carpenter and it would be a huge improvement to fit 4x8 sheets and other 8' material in the box, but having the access cab is top priority for me. My box is scrap though, and if I can save this frame it'll need work anyways...we'll see...

Theres something cool about a small truck trying to be a big truck. And an 8’ flatbed would be better than a shorter flatbed.

haha a Cherokee Comanche. I had a Comanche. It was a good little truck with that legendary I6.

The wheelbase and length on a LB AC wouldn't be much different than a DC in the end though.

I had an ‘88! It was pre h.o. And had a t04b feeding it. Id launch in 2nd 4wd low, grab 2nd 2hi, then third. In ‘03-‘05 i could walk rich kids mustangs til 60ish. Also had an icy water/meth sprayer.

    did a 13.6 @ royal purple raceway.

Make slider box for ur tools inside the bed, and put a cover on bed with rack, then you just put the 8x on cover, long lumber on rack

My tools are too much for a pickup bed. I'll be pulling a 16' enclosed trailer for my tools and materials most of the time. It won't really change parking for me. Parking isn't too bad in my area though.

The long bed looks quirky, but no doubt it would be REALLY useful to some. If there was a wrecked 8' long bed truck that had a good rear frame and a bed i'd be tempted to do the conversion. It wouldn't be too difficult...extend the brake lines, wire harness, drive line, exhaust. Then toss in a 4'x8' sheet of plywood, close the tailgate, and call it a day.

Older post but wth its about trucks right? Oh yeah!
My ex wife bought a 1996 GM Silverado Ext Cab LB off her childhood neighbor & then she hated parking it.
Lucky for her that pos absolutely fell apart by 115k so she gifted it to her boyfriend. (You see exactly why we divorced now huh? Givin GMs away he!! I ran away:)
Longest truck I drove regularly besides my bro's Semi's helping him out between his drivers was our old shop truck.
We needed it to transport the plants very heavy Injection Molds & Molding machine motors/parts but I also drove it a lot to keep its bat up, fuel fresh etc. (Ok' yup free gas:)
It was a 70's GM 4dr, LB, big fender Dually 1 ton pickup, 4x4, 454V8. This was waay before big pickups were cool to drive daily, yep yep' they still just sucked to drive one back then..lol
I keep my 2005 Tundra Access cab because most full size trucks today are too big to turn around without an entire parking lot.
That dually always stuck out in isles so I had to walk clear across parking lots & park it 2-3 blocks away when I went down town.
Long bed trucks are fine if you haul long items daily but I'll take a shorter one any day needing one for that occasionally. I'm too old to walk across the globe today. Ok fine, sneaking Donuts & Ho Ho's took their toll here. Ya'll happy? Turn me into my own nark! Wow!

Dad had an ‘89 extended cab long bed ‘club f150’ and my brother fit between the multispeaker boxes in the back, and i sat in the middle front & shifted the 302. He raced dirtcars and pulled 11k trailers of racecar, tools, and spares about every other weekend.

one of these days i’ll find my longbed & front bench, but i think i’ll keep my smol bed & keep the 8’er for a trailer.
