Reminds me of the place we had in Indiana. Used to enjoy sitting out at dusk watching screech owls and bats.

Darndest thing... in a tree 30 feet off the back deck and about 15 feet up a previous owner put a home-made birdhouse that had 3 slots on each side (6 total "apartments"). Squirrels chewed the corner hole facing our deck bigger, then remodeled all 6 units into a giant suite for themselves. Somehow they came to sharing that condo with the screech owls. The last 3 years we were there the squirrels would move in during fall and birth their young over winter. Spring came, the squirrel family moved out, and the screech owls moved in. Hatched out their young, and by early fall moved out. Squirrels moved back in, and repeat. I miss it.

Nice. Having a spot where neighbors can’t see you is the best. We are on 40 acres in the country so this is my peaceful spot.
