Diamondback HD ATV loading question

Hi! I am thinking about buying a Diamondback HD bed cover and eventually an ATV, but for my bed size it says that the wheelbase for the ATV can only be 55". I am looking to buy a 2-person ATV and the smallest 2-person ATV wheelbase I can find is 57". For those of you with this cover, is there any wiggle room, or is 55" it?

I guess you plan to load on top, so why can't one just throw a few say maybe 2x10's cut to fit under the wheels to support and distribute the load. Maybe add grip tape to help too. Just a quick brainstorming idea.

 

If you look at the atv racks that diamond back sells you’ll see they stick out past the tailgate a little.

Could easily fab something up for that.

Are you going to rear load or side load, you already have ramps for it or using boards?

 

I'm guessing you would need the front to back loading with extension over the side load but I'm not sure.
