King Shocks, are these good? Also, is this truck lifted or leveled?

Hi, this truck has King Racing Shocks on it and I don't know a lot about them. Are they good and what do they enable me to do, are they adjustable?

    Thanks for the help.

Also, I can't tell, can you tell if this truck has been leveled or lifted? The tires are 275/60 R20.

If they’re not past their useful life, Kings are good; among the best. And rebuildable. Probably adjustable with a specific proprietary tool, not an easy clicker. But it’s hard to say more with the minimal pic you posted.

Kings are great shocks and can be rebuilt. Definitely looks leveled and not lifted.

I think you know most of what we’d tell you. If the truck and the shocks aren’t all rusty you’re probably good to go. Unless they’re ready for a rebuild, Kings are far superior to stock coil over shocks. Make sure there’s no spacer mounted atop the shock— probably not though since it looks level not lifted.

I don’t know what additional help you are asking for. They’re adjustable with tools. The truck looks level not lifted. And I see rust that would concern me… but I live in SoCal and don’t know how much rust is actually a problem. Anyway, if you tell us what you hope to do (be specific), we’ll be better able to answer any questions.

look a bit rusty/pitted and maybe leaky ? also the tire rubs on the hose.
you can have them rebuilt/tuned to your liking.

I would look first at the truck overall shape before the suspension i.e. don't buy a beat up truck because it has a shiny suspension.

Kings are one of the top shock manufactures. (Kings/Fox/ Icon).
I will warn you high performance shocks require higher maintenance.
There are a few concerns i would have with that truck.
    A) tire wear on remote reservoir hose. Doesn't look like it needs immediate replacement but would inspect closely.
    B) Powdercoat failing on spring is a sign of age of parts. Most performance shocks are recommended to be rebuilt 30k-50K road miles.
Powdercoat is pretty durable so i would assume those shocks are at least 3-5 years old
My opinion is they look like the shocks are ready for a service. If you neglect service too long. re-buildable shocks can be damaged to the point that they aren't rebuildable any more.
    C) factory UCA and grease at boot. Factory UCA's typically have a limited range of motion. This causes the joint to bottom out and that increases wear on the joint. A boot with grease leaking warrants further inspection.
    D) Since there is rust evident and oxidized fittings I suspect the vehicle has seen salt. Check shock shafts for pitting. Pits degrade shock seals.

Thanks for the information! This truck was in PA for about 6-7 years, so it saw salt for a while, but's been in the south since then. I would think the rust could be grinded off and painted. I think most of it is surface rust.
