Hi Ray - my schedule opens up much more over the next few weeks as my girls will be off to spend time with the grandparents. I’ll send you message next week so I can schedule my appointment to see that beauty!

Happy Friday peeps! Anyone done something exciting?

I’m taking the Corolla for a spin tomorrow up to Snoqualmie pass. Gotta recon a campground and the meeting some friends for lunch. Sunday I’m headed back the same direction to a luncheon with some family that i haven’t seen in years. Going to be a good time.

not really. Got a cover for the Timberline since it’s been outside for a week, have some meat district burgers on the Rectec, been putting a hurtin on this 1/2 gallon of Fireball I have. Hit up Costco today saw a GT3, and did way more work in the yard then I wanted to. Hope you guys have a great weekend.

and started researching lease end things.

Busy week for sure. I got a bottle of ‘14 Pinot Noir open from OR. It is going down at an alarming rate. Breakfast tomorrow might start with ibuprofen.

Good on ya. I’ve got a list that I’ve been avoiding that’s going to bite me in the azz very soon.

What GMG do you have! I’ve got the Daniel Boone (I think). Love it. I’ve done a couple of full prime rib roasts… absolutely amazing.

Congratulations on the almost new arrival! Hope momma is doing well.

I’ve got a Daniel Boone from about 11 years ago. It’s still going, though there are things starting to go on it. But I can’t justify a MAK just yet…
Prime Rib is what convinced me to get a pellet cooker to start way back then (and the fact my $500 gas grill rotted out in just over a year).

It's my dad's house that I'll be working on. Already got payment in the form of my RTT. So I don't have a choice. Should finish soffiting his house this weekend. Then prep for paint. Then paint. Hopefully be done before September. Only working weekends with a few camping trips thrown in.

Truck and camper are all loaded for a 2000+ mile round trip down into Humboldt County, CA to visit the wife’s family and take the kiddos to all the same spots we went to as kids. Went last year too but COVID had all the things shut down. Hoping for a bit of normalcy this time.

Any of you own a propane fire ring you use for camping? Next trip later this month is to a campground where fires are banned so looking for options. See plenty of options on Amazon and other places but have no idea what works well.

I just use a Coleman stove for cooking. Don't use anything but lanterns for light. Not as much fun as sitting by the camp fire, didn't even know they had propane fire rings. I am guessing they hook up to a propane tank as opposed to the single use cans?

Yep, runs off a tank. Here is an example: https://www.sportsmans.com/camping-...f-redwood-portable-propane-fire-pit/p/1306704

I really don’t want to carry another tank so going to see if I could use one from my trailer or buy an extra long hose and hook it to my outdoor cooktop connection.

That's pretty cool. I bet you could find a longer hose and use your trailer tank. Longer hose you wouldn't even need to move the tank from the trailer.

That sounds like an epic trip. Have a great time and post some pics!

I have a propane fire pit from Amazon. In searching for the link, I discovered two things. First, I buy waaaaay to much chit on Amazon. Second, apparently my order history was “deleted “. Because I have this pit (and it is great), but it isn’t in my order history. So, hmmm…

Yeah, I have one of these. Works great! Puts out enough heat for at least 4 people comfortably. I recommend getting a travel case if yours doesn't come with one to keep the dust from the lava rocks at a minimum. I also have their propane cover with table top. Helps with smore production ;).

I am a usually 20+ feet from the camper where the external house hookup is so that won't work well. I just bring a dedicated tank for the fire pit. Plus a dedicated tank for the grill. We camp in the spring and late fall so I've needed to run both at the same time.

I had one of these but I'm usually making food for 6+ people and the stove wasn't big enough. I upgraded to one of these and it works great! Folds up into a nice compact package with wheels and fits in my pass through storage without issue.

Not sure of the brand we have but sounds similar. We love ours and what point08 says is right on target. It seems most of the time we camp fires are not allowed but the propane pits are. I highly recommend getting one if you like just sitting around the fire at night.

For the campers among us, this is a pretty cool app. Here's a preview of our upcoming trip. It allows me to put in fuel stats like mpg and how much to keep in reserve (yay for 10mpg (not)), when i would probably run out of fuel, "RV" friendly gas stations and various POI's. Plus the elevation map with road grade %'s.

Called "RV Trip Wizard" and it's part of the "RV Life" subscription.

Nice! Finding gas that is easy to pull in and out of is my biggest concern when towing.

Yeah, for sure. I usually top off each morning before hitting the road if possible.

It always seems to be an asshole that tries to squeeze in somewhere that blocks you. Like, can you not see my big ass?!

Usually it is the same guy who is changing lanes suddenly in front of you fast and furious style, but in his 88 civic that is neither fast or furious with the mismatched spoiler and wire rims.

He has no clue his Momo steering wheel and Sparco seats won’t help when 11,000 lbs of gross weight steam rolls him.
