My 2011 tundra started making noise when I would steer so I check the power steering fluid and the reservoir was empty. I put fluid and it went away until I got home. The next day it was empty again. I put more fluid and started turning my wheels left and right and noticed that I was leaking from the right boot over my inner tie rod. I asked a mechanic friend what’s causing the issue and he said that I needed to replace the inner tie rod. I replaced it and when I tested it, fluid started shooting from the side. I took the tie rod out and found that I have a tiny hole on the side of the threads. The threads on the old and new tie rod does not screw in far enough to cover that hole. Am I missing a part to cover that hole. How can I fix this issue.

Your mechanic friend should have told you to replace the steering rack.
