Who's got dogs? Post your pup!

Midge and I went backpacking last weekend.

 

I was wondering why my doggie kept looking up into this Canary Island date palm...It appears that a North American marsupial (opossum) has taken shelter among the safety of it's dagger like spines.

Someone got to go kayaking today.

 

This is Barley. 6-7 year old papillon mix of some sort. Got him just over 5 years ago and he has been the absolute best companion someone could ask for. Not a fan of larger dogs or girls but loves to run around with smaller dogs and coming up to random guys who are strangers to him! He’s roughly 10lbs of love and snores. He isn’t the happiest on my 12ft boat but when it’s calm and not windy he doesn’t mind. If it’s anything more than calm water and no wind, he has to be on my lap the entire time I’m fishing The picture in the back seat was his first spot he laid down in my new to me Tundra this last Sunday (4th of July).

 

so sorry for your loss... i feel your pain

i put down 2 of my boys recently (March & June)... both very sudden and unexpected even though they were 12 & 13

68 lbs we thinking now. Sugar has become more tall and lean, I guess Great Pyrenees fill out later. Honey is filling out nicely like a lab.

OAKLEY , Giving me the ( what now look ) 96Deg, and just got out of his pool.

 

This ding dong lol this is my paddle buddy. It's my daughter's dog but he loves going kayaking with me. He goes so much now I got him a life jacket

 

Good idea with the life jacket, I got mine one last year and he always wears it in boat when moving. They say all dogs can swim , NOT TRUE, most can , others learn, it's that initial shock off falling in and not sure where to go or how to get back into the boat that can freak them out. And alot easier to lift back in with vest on.

 

That's why I got him the life jacket. This picture was his first time out. He jumped in after the geese and I had to fish him out with the leash bc he did not swim initially. He sank like a rock lol

 

LOL , Mine jumped in after the Smallmouth my wife was netting for me. They don't realize what water is the first time out, and they can't walk on water either.

 

My daughter and I went out with her dog and my dog in separate kayaks. She went with my dog bc she weighs less and my dog weighs more and I took her dog.as soon as we paddled off dock, my dog was freaking out and jumped out of her kayak(never had been in water before ) and swam to mine lmao. So then I dragged her in and the little one wouldn't get out. So I was there all 235lbs of me with a 30 lbs heeler and a 10lbs Yorkie on a 270lbs capacity yak...... I paddled over to my daughter and gave her dog to her..... then he proceeded to whine the whole paddle bc he was used to kayaking with me ........ it was a shit show lol

He is a awesome pup!!

 

Lifejackets are a must on some dogs. Especially the flat face meatball puppies like mine. Yeti wouldn't get a single breath in if she hit the water without her vest on.

 

I bet it's pretty hard to say "no" to that face!
