Ummm, that's not a good price. Right now I can find a TRD OR for low 50's in Canadian Pesos. A fully optioned XLT is only a fraction more kitted out than a TRD OR and is not worth mid 60's CAD. For that I can find a Platinum Tundra, zero negotiating right now. So it's 65k with a fancy engine or 52k with a good old fashioned engine. 13k sure pays for a lot of gas.

Just for shits and giggles I looked up F150's to see what their price is currently - yikes. I know you'll get discounts just by walking in, but still. So glad I don't need a new vehicle right now, it's almost buy a truck or buy a house territory.

That's what I was thinking too. Granted, the truck world has changed some in the last 7 years, but the last XLT I bought (2013 F150 SuperCab XLT 4x4 5.0, with towing package, power everything, etc.) was discounted from $43K to *$28K*.

Now? The cheapest XLT I could find that's comparable to what I own (Crew Cab w/5.0L, 4x4, etc.) runs about $50K...and I paid $41.7K for my 2020 CM 4x4 Tundra.

I have an 08 I bought new and have been patiently painting on the next Gen that was supposed to come out in 2020. I love my toyotas but they are seriously testing my patience. I hope they deliver with torque and payload, otherwise I will be buying one of the big 3 HD pickups for the first time in my life.

Damn I live at 4800ft I would love to drive/tow my truck at sea level especially since I have long tube headers, I bet it would be a totally difference experience

It would make a difference. I live at about 3300ft and frequently get up to over 5200ft, but have family in Missouri and Nebraska. I can tell a difference down there.

It certainly does and for those who won't "dare" use the Sequential Shifter, it "thinks" for them. I'll choose how long to run a gear and which gear is best for a given load, road condition and speed!

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/supply-crunch-sent-used-car-103500090.html

This is one of the reasons why I’m interested in the new Tundra. Toyota has several models listed selling above what they originally cost. Also, this is fairly common on Toyota vehicles. As bad as cars are for an investment I’ve come out best on my Tacos and 4Runner.

Been shopping for a full size truck for a little while now and GMC and s up their but literally almost all my neighbors have one.

I like the look of the new one and I’m excited about some updated tech (assuming it is there). I’ll use mine to haul motorcycles to races, small trailers, and loaded down with mountain bikes. I also travel on the road or used to for work so better gas mileage would be appreciated. If that is TTV6 fine with me. Sure a V8 sounds better but only one truck I’ve owned had one and that was a 16’ F150 Lariat FX4. It was great and no complaints except the Sync 3 system was a little wonky at times. All my other have been V6 or one I6 Wrangler so I’m used to shitty exhaust notes. Haha

Be glad you had the Sync 3. Not only did my '13 have Sync 2, but it had that blasted 4.2" screen. It

    SUCKED

big time. Worse, it didn't have a standard faceplate, so I either had to

    a) buy an aftermarket radio and a bunch of adapters, plus a Metra faceplate that frankly was terrible; OR
    b) pay $2K - $3K to completely replace it with the Sync 3 system.

If trade values stay as high as they are right now, I've been offered 53K sight unseen, I'll be trading for a new one. Would almost be stupid not to. I'll get them to 55K plus the 3.5K savings in tax. So won't cost me much to jump up 3 years a drop from 42K to 0 miles.

Pretty sure all Subarus these days, aside from BRZ, are CVT.

    Shift Paddles+CVT=LOL

Continuously Variable Transmissions; I believe it uses a variable pulley + belt instead of just gears. The decent ones are done well...but rarely do they have decent CVT implementations.

Oh ok. Idk much about her 2016 crosstrek but it’s works great and those paddle shifters are sweet in winter. I always thought how nice they would be in a auto truck. But all I have ever had was a manual.

I agree, they are/would be nice in a modern truck. Not because they are "sporty" but I'd think it be nice when towing (current truck has column shift, manual gear changes are cumbersome)

That's what I have in my RX400H. I love it. in the mountains the Speed stays the same RPMs go up a little bit as the CVT adjusts.

I don't know how well it would do in a truck towing 10,000 pounds but worked well towing 3,500 pounds in my RX.

Not a fan of CVT transmission our Legacy has one and I would rather have my Tundra 6 speed auto or my Camaros 10 Speed. The Paddle shifters in the CVT don't really help much imo with the 2.5L boxer in that Legacy either. That being said this is kind of only my first or second venture with a vehicle with CVT and my wife wanted a Subaru.

No gears in a CVT. The paddle shifters really don’t shift anything. They just give the illusion of shifting. If Toyota came up with a CVT that worked in a tundra, that would be huge. CVT’s make for smooth acceleration and deceleration. No loss of momentum with shifting gears.

I’m certainly interested. I just left my truck at a shop that sells lifted trucks, they are going to sell it for me. After 3 years an 11,000 miles the truck gave me a lot of smiles. I’m just ready for a change. I don’t know if it will be the new Tundra, a 3/4 truck, the new Bronco... or a pre 18 Tundra that I can put a 10 inch lift on! Selling it now in this market puts me in a great position to do what I want. I will always be a Toyota fan boy... still have 2 Tacoma’s and a 18 4Runner that my wife drives.

If they could figure out how to not have a belt burn out when under heavy loads...
