My wife recently went to start my 05 Tundra today, and said I would crank but caught off. She thought it was the battery, but I had just replaced it about a month ago. Once I got home I started the vehicle, and it would run, but then die when trying to rest at idle. I did this several times. Battery's good on to the engine bay. I then found bite marks over multiple wires and hoses. The hose to pcv valve was severed so I replaced that thinking it was the issue. It wasn't. I then went to the RH side of my engine bay and found a harness completely chewed through that connects to a silver rectangular component with cooling fans on it. I cut back the insulation, and twisted the wires together. Truck started and ran like a champ. My question is what is that silver box. I'm going to splice the wires back together correctly I promise. See pic.

All the cactus people are watching!
But seriously, good job for working that problem out on your own, make sure you wrap and heat shrink your terminals. That resistor tells the pump to go low speed or high speed depending on need for speed…..
Good luck with your truck, and we hope to see you around, we have lots of fun in the BestGen section:)
