Glad to hear Toyota will have 1 person who likes their new design - maybe.

Seriously - I just think a lot of people had something built up in their heads on design that no one could possibly achieve. They wanted a more up to date 3rd gen made to look like a TRX/Raptor killer with a 500hp V8 under the hood, a 12in radio and an interior that matches Ram with 6.5 CM beds and a starting price of 55k…instead we got a Tacoma XL.

I mean seriously did anyone expect it not to be - any manufacturer wants their product to be recognizable across the board. Unfortunately- this one just looks like an confused identity big 3 product - is it a GM or a Ford ?

Bottom line - it’s the powertrain / ride that matters - looks are 3rd to me. But with the reliability of the well refined current model - I don’t see the need to move for now. It’s not the ugliest truck out there - but it’s far from the best looking in my eyes too.

I think the price is going to blow us away. North of $65K for the TRD Pro, at least. I will be keeping my baby. Looks good, but having the title to my 2019 PRO looks even better.

It look half Ford, half Chevy, if the interior look like a ram then we’ll have a Frankenstein.

Meh…it usually takes a while for new models to grow on me. Not crazy about it based on pics I’ve seen. Curious to see how the new drivetrain performs and holds up. Time will tell. Still loving mine so I’m in no hurry.

65k plus dealer markups will not be uncommon for a while, I bet a good year anyway.

I personally like the new look by the pictures and I hope it looks as good or better in person .
As far as looking like any other truck out there I just don't see it . They kept the squarish wheel wells , the grill is certainly Toyota , I mean even without the Toyota name on the front you can tell it's a Toyota .
As for the rest , It's a truck there's only so much you can do with the styling . You can't make it a fast back or anything . The cabs are designed that way to give you maximum space inside and as much bed as they can .

I think the styling is right on point, it screams Toyota. I honestly didn't expect it to look THAT good. My friend at the dealership said he has an order in for a White TRD Pro, as well as other trim levels. Can't wait to see it in person, but I will be keeping my 19 PRO.

If they put a TT v8 in TRD PRO you can bet green money for the foreseeable future it will be an $80k out the door purchase.

But we're talking about Toyota, not RAM/Dodge/Stellantis. There's no way a TTV8 will find its way in a Toyota-badged product (from the factory).
